Just went and did some shooting in back yard, always makes me wanna get out to the woods. Little under two weeks. Havent noticed much difference in arrow impact since upped arrow weight a little, can only get out to 40 yards in yard though. Hopefully take it out to farm and move back little further make sure its dialed in good.

Nice shots OK, good luck chasing one them down.

Drove to Florida with the wife last night. We're down here for my brother's wedding.

We saw deer along the road in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida. The deer in southern Alabama and northern Florida are really tiny. There was a stretch on 85 S in Florida where we saw at least thirty deer right along the road. A few bucks, but nothing that looked too big. It appeared that they were still in velvet.

Pat has been on top of them fellas...he even loosed an arrow on one but rushed the shot is how he described it I think and got a pretty much clean miss. It's just a matter of time I have a feeling for him. Good luck to everyone else!

Somethings telling me this rut is gonna be awesome here in Oklahoma maybe an early Rut. I killed My first Bow buck last year on Nov 27 peak rut here in ok I'm definitely hunting that day my earliest hunt will be opening day and then again on the 11th of Oct gunnin for a nice big ole doe but my hopes are high that I may get my first velvet buck if I get an opportunity I may take it if its the right guy. So stay ready to keep from gettin ready team. Good luck Men. OkieBowHunter

Decided to check the cameras and glad I did. the new wildgame i8 camera has been active. so far, i'm liking it. Only problem is i choose the HD option for video which puts them anywhere between 25-50mb per video. So my 2GB SD card filled up pretty quickly.

Still have the same two big bucks (Big Daddy and he No-Name 8) hanging out pretty regularly and Lionel Richie now shows up just once a week.

Youth Day coming up this Saturday so my son and I will be in the woods. Looking for a doe or almost any deer really. He's not bowhunting ready just yet but this is his 2nd real season with his .30-30 so I'm hoping he can close the deal. The season before last he made what looked like a good shot ona big ole doe with his .243 but she carried it off into the swamp and we lost the trail in the water/mud. We switched him to the .30-30 last year with 160 grain LeveRevolution, for the ranges we're expecting I think that will give him a little more knock down power as opposd to the 95 grain .243. Last season he had 2 decent opportunities but the deer never fully stopped and he didn't want to rush the shot so he let em walk. We'll see what happens on Saturday.

Oh yeah short distances the 30-30 will do the trick for sure! If you ever see a .257 Roberts out used that is a great caliber. Kicks small but punch is bigger than the .243 by quite a bit! I can't use one in Indiana and rarely gun hunt but just picked one up from a good friend with cancer and I love the thing! If I ever go out west for antelope or spend some solid money on a hunt I may take it as I can't afford to spend money and not get something trying with a bow for days.

Got all my arrows re-fletched to match, cause I'm ocd like that. Some before and after, was gonna go with all lime green to go with bow but shop says he had his like that and when they got bloody they turned black. So went with orange.

Apparently the one is upside down but you get the point ha. Now time to do some shooting
