    Yep me too.

Went did some scouting this afternoon. Didn't see any bucks besides couple young ones. There was a group of about 6 deer feeding across clover field we got and watched them for about 45 mins. Couple of the little guys must of been liking this cool weather we're having, got to watch them spare for about 15-20 mins. Kept waiting on big brother to come out but never showed. Pretty good night though got to sit in the woods even if didn't have bow with me.

I'm gonna get a sit in this evening, I'll keep you guys posted. Our statewide bow season starts Oct. 5. I'll be out of town that weekend then my daughters b-day is the 12th followed by my wife's on the 19th. So no Saturday hunts for me in October and no Sunday hunting in VA. I do have a couple vacation days to burn though so I hope to get a couple weekday hunts in.

I'm hoping to take the day off on October 1st so I can be in the woods for the opener. I plan to hunt as many weekends as I can once the season starts. At this point I have a four-day weekend October 11-14, I'm hoping to take off October 28-29 (nobody should work on their birthday) and then I'm hoping to have the time to take of November 4-8, which will run into the 11th with Veteran's Day being a paid holiday.

My goal is to have a buck down by the time gun season starts, but this year will be a learning experience since I'll be focusing a lot of my time on a new property.

Well fellas it has been creepy quiet on our card pulls...honestly only one verified shooter since June, despite us having confirmed post season shots of the three giants at the swamp property (all MIA still this year). Corn rotation of crops I think is playing a huge factor and some other suspicions as well as to what but nothing confirmed just logged and noted. I have faith though that it's just a matter of time. Homestead property is swimming in does...too many in fact and come late season I'll be popping one (if not opening morning if I hunt the food plot blind).

However will the slow nature of the bucks showing themselves I may be doing some climber stand hunting on a river bottom property we have permission to hunt but just don't much due to lack of time to focus on scouting it...who knows what could walk up (no trail cams add that element even more so). Worst case scenario is I bag a doe over there...best case is a river bottom GIANT.

Good luck fellas and I'll be sure to put in another update message shortly. Don't go silent fellas, try to check back in and update us once a week or so just so we know you didn't flake on us. :D

My season opener came and went without much impact. Opening morning found myself in a funnel area where I had last gotten a picture of Split Ear (July 2). The woods were cool, crisp, but most importantly quiet. In fact they were silent most of the morning with the only sounds coming from the chatter of a red squirrel and some far off hounds running bear. Although I didn't lay eyes on a deer, opening morning was about as picturesque as it gets for a bowhunter!

That evening I decided to sit in the same stand as the morning, much to my dislike, do to the presence of a Southwest wind. The evening was shaping up to be very similar to the morning hunt in terms of deer sightings until a lone doe walked along a ridge in front of me about 50 yards through the timber. This sighting was a perfect ending to a very nice opening day hunt!

Although I enjoyed my hunt this past weekend, I am disappointed in my lack of quality trail camera pictures. I haven't had a single picture of a buck since July 2 which has me worried a little. I generally don't get a lot of buck pictures until the end of October but this year is slower than normal! Hopefully that changes quickly!

My pics have been way down too. Besides the ones I posted above I haven't been gettinguch since middle of July. Actually only had about 450 pics total off two cams from this last pull, so thats way down.

Finally made it to the photo shoot.

I told you guys the closer to season it gets here in Oklahoma that the deer get up and on the move. I finally got some doe on camera and a new guy that I am definatly exited to see. He is definatly not the shooter I'm after but am sure he will bring good things in the future seasons. SUNP0012.jpg SUNP0009.jpg SUNP0015.jpg SUNP0008.jpg I am pretty sure that the young buck here is the offspring of the buck I shot last season called ACE as he has the same characteristics showing with the tall rack an all they don't get wide they just get tall but typical like this guy. SUNP0142.jpg He is my Hit list Buck this season I haven't gotten any pics of him yet but I got my fingers crossed that when rut hits he's going to show his head because he is the dominant one now that Ace is gone. I call him Deuce because he was the runnerup last year I had him at 40 yds last year and let him walk. I think it was a good choice now that there is some up an comers in there. So October first come on cuz im ready to put some meat in the freezer. Hope you guys enjoy the pics im not a covert guy yet cuz my pockets aren't that deep but still get some alright photos for a tasco. to everyone of my team members that are already in the field good luck and put one through pump station for me. REDSONRISING BABY!!!!!!

My cameras are definitely picking up. Here are a few I'm after.

    1. No Name 8 (because I can't think of a name for him)
Have photos/vids of him from last year as a 2 1/2 year old so it's nice to see him back this year.

Lionel Richie - the debate is still out (even with the Pa Game Commission) if he is legal or not in my area.

Big Daddy - been watching this buck all Summer. He looks like a solid 4.5/5.5 year old buck.

Goose. Yeah, these are just screen captures off the video. My son noticed that right away too. I'm watching the big buck and he says, 'look at the one pooping in the back'. Haha

Still shooting the pvc bow. I would guess it shooting in 150 to 160 fps range and hits pretty hard with 580 grains. I'm down to 6" groups at 20 yards now. click the pic for video.
