I'll throw a second vote on that one.

Re-visited my personally owned property to check on plots that were planted week prior to Labor Day - fertilize and/or over-seed if needed.

One plot looks better than it ever has, topped with some 20-10-10 and will circle back end of September for a Urea application on the brassicas there...another one that connects to that one via a plot trail by a blind was riddled with a low growth weed (believe a purslane type)...too late to kill and seed it and I had speckled amounts of radish, turnips and cereal grains so I said screw it and tossed balanced fertilizer out along with a lot of cereal rye into it and will cross fingers.

The other side of the property had plots just planted like a week ago, and the cereal grain paths were absolutely dynamite growth already with oats/rye while the other spots with diverse mixes were exploding in germination. Those plots are very quick and easy to access so when I go back in September to urea hit the other side I'll fertilize these as well.

Some are familiar with my set up, but I don't have a ton of ground...just 22.3 acres or so, but over the years have tried to make it the most productive I can...small acreage ownership is an uphill battle often times but rewarding when it works for you. Got a buddy that owns like 250 acres and he always laughs at how much effort I put in and how small I have to think....he compares us to bailing a boat, he gets to use an electric pump and I am stuck with a small bucket to do it by hand LOL

Anyways, looks solid from a buck perspective out there, got quite a few I'd shoot if given the chance...got one old timer that was a two year old in 2016 and his prime has come and gone but I would still shoot him for sure now, got two nine frames I'd probably sink an arrow in (one for sure), and two main frame tens - one I want to see in person to decide and the other is old and has trash I'd shoot. I'll share some photos when home and remember.

No update on the farm that is being listed...right now we have full permission to plan and hunt as normal. I hope to touch base with the owner here this week and find out his figure and see if he is open to the concept of selling to my dad and I on land contract as soon as I can move my piece.....don't want to have a chaotic fall, but might be....

I think so. We'll lock it in. Team name and avatar for season 2023 set! Let the killing commence in less than 4 days.
