This buck was a first of many’s for me first time ever that a deer ran past fifty yards, biggest body deer, and biggest buck. Shock me how far he made it but they are resilient and impressive in many ways. I’m just truly grateful to recover him, that my shot was true, and the much needed meat for my family.

Only deer seen were on the ride out at the other end of the corn field. It was great to get out and put in the time in the blind.

They are calling for a wind change Thursday. I think I'm going to do a mid morning to mid afternoon hunt. Ive got a blind setup that's in a pinch point the bucks normally travel this time of the year and the wind should be right for it.

Good luck. Haven't paid much attention to weather. I plan on going on Friday after first light. I want to give my saddle kit a try. Don't want to try an fiddle with it any in the dark. Thinking about going to a different permission piece for the first time. I don't want to blow up my primary too much.

Ma nature going to keep me from hunting Thursday now with all this rain. But Friday is looking better.

    Good luck Friday James.

The light rain we are getting right now makes me wish I could be out doing a spot and stalk in the state forest. Best time to be in there is during the week

If you don't mind me asking, what state forest are you talking about? Southern Ohio somewhere. I lost a couple properties to hunt this year and actually walked Mohican state forest today for about 2 hours. Never been on public. Pretty sure I did not know what i was looking for or where I needed to look. A couple spots looked good on a map and when I got there, there was a truck at each one of them so I kept driving until I found some areas without vehicles. Jumped a deer bedded on a side of the hill. Didn't see what it was but sounded like only one so I guessed it was a buck. How much scouting did it take for you to know what a good spot looks like?

MRI scheduled for Wednesday. They want swelling to go down before they take images. Nothing to report further.
