Back out. nothing but does on camera. Noticed bucks starting to chase though while I’m out checking traps

Wanted to hunt yesterday, but mother nature had other ideas . Looking at Wednesday now. May sit all day. Wind will finally be right to hunt the community scrape.

I made it out for an afternoon sit on Sunday. Saw a lot of does. I did see a shooter buck out in the distance 100+ yards in the open. He wasn't coming in to a contact grunt. Right before last light I thought I was gonna get a shot at a coyote I kissed in. Great hunt for "the lull". Won't get out again until Friday. I'll need the time. We have a bug going around the house. Son has fevers. Wife lost her voice and now I'm starting to get some symptoms. Hoping it doesn't get me as bad as it did her. Also hope I can get around the coughing. Nothing like a cough during deer season.

 

Hope you and the family get past the sickness soon James. I was a fourty years smoker until last year and always dealt with a surprise cough at the wrong time. I always use to grunt after coughing. Seemed to work for me.

Still do not have a buck on cam that I want to pursue here in Ohio. Been taking my son out on the weekends. We've been close to sealing the deal, but hoping this weekend is it. The buck he is after has been hitting a scrape during the day in one of our bottoms. If he comes in Saturday morning, it will be a 23 yd shot.
I leave for IL next Wednesday. Really looking forward to that trip!

I went out last week once. Had 7 doe wondering around the area. 40ish yards was the closest one got. First decent buck on camera came yesterday at 8:30 pm. Wednesday through Friday supposed to drop into the upper 40's, low 50's. Try to get out one of these days.
