What's a big doe in your region? I'm going good if some around here reach 130#

160+ is big. I think in 1993 my old man killed one in north central Indiana that went over 180 dressed. She was a cow. Took everything me and my old man had to drag her out of the ravine she died in. I say old man, he would have been 38 at the time, I was like 16. And my old man was a beast. One of the strongest men I've ever known; and she whupped our rear ends. After we got her out, I remember dad saying if he'd have known it would've been such a pain to get her out he'd have never shot her.

What I hope to do is shoot one so damn big it obviously would've won and I post it over there on the Trophy Doe site just to spite the "official" winner.

Here’s the 8pt I’ll have my son on. He’s been pretty consistent at this apple tree.

Here’s the older 9pt that hasn’t grown since last year. 2018 on right and 2019 on left. He’s hit or miss on cams right now. No real pattern.

    That's an awesome 8.

You weren't kidding about the 9. I would have never thought those were from different years unless you had told me

Yea it's weird... Really thought he would've made a decent jump from last year going from 4 to 5. This is the third year I've had pics of him.

Hoping to sit at least saturday evening and hopefully sunday some time...saturday i have to help with the jailbreak marathon fundraiser....hoping no one is an extrodinarily slow runner/walker so i can get in the stand and at least smack a slick head. Sunday late morning i have to pull a pier and boat & lift out of the water. Hoping this work madness slows soon! Its cutting into my hunting time!

I'm lease bound for the weekend! More than likely I'll be killing pigs and maybe a doe.

Game plan is to get my doe at a feeder. Once I get my doe, I move off of feeders and get back into my creek bottoms, and close to bedding areas where we have stands positioned. Wind isn't favorable for a lot of places being an almost East wind, but I have some places in mind. Might get in close to a watering hole the deer use quite frequently. Stay tuned!

Glad some of your seasons have started. Harvest is about a month behind in Illinois and normally it would be wrapping up but instead it hasn't started. The weird weather and crops being in hasn't got me pumped for the season yet.

I did go out and walk around a property today searching for some fall mushrooms. Found some chicken of the woods and also quite a few picturesque mushrooms that are not edible. IMG_20190928_202733_076.jpeg 20190928_143155.jpeg 20190928_142243.jpeg

Well was a really short first sit but exciting! Saw 18 deer and 2 yotes...in the field at the same time. Pretty sure the yotes scared all the deer out of the pines into the field but then the deer fed the wrong way....oh well...was still neat to watch! Nothing closer than 188 yards

My hunts for the weekend are over. I'll try again next weekend.

The only thing killed at our lease this weekend was a couple of hogs by my best friend.

I see the importance in carrying two releases now. My Scott trigger release quit working this morning. Scott offers a lifetime warranty so I'll be sending it in, but hank goodness an animal didn't come in when I realized it was busted. Wasn't meant to be for me this weekend.

First sit of the season for me. I’m after a big tall 10 and my dad took my son out to one of his spots on our lease. Little warm but feels good to be out.

Looks like the big boys have finally found the plots!! All about timing and placement now! And woohoo for day time pics this early! These were from two different plots.
