I'm going to be headed out after work this evening. My buddy seen 22 does last night while in the stand, not a single buck he said. Which is crazy where he is hunting at lol. I told him he needs to thin the heard out. Saw a nice buck on my way to work yesterday working a scrape. Pulled over and watched him for a few. Probably 130s. I think things are going to start getting real good in the next 5-10 days.
Good luck Justin. Some of my shooters have been more active this past week. It’s about to get really good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saw 4 does and button buck last night. Won't be back out until next week only if I decide to hunt Saturday morning, really just to put up more cameras and scout a little. Decided to order a rx7. Should be here in 2 weeks or less. Went through trail camera pics last couple of years on the property i mainly hunt and buck activity seems to always pick up around Oct. 26th to Nov. 8th. Probably really start rattling hard late next week.
I'm out. First day all week it isn't raining. It's chilly. Deer haven't moved on camera all day. We shall see.
4 doe - stuck in stand an hour after dark. Plenty of shots after legal hour. 15 yards away. Once rut is over, doe are fair game. Trying to use them to decoy.
Weekend hunting plans? It's supposed to be 65 today and 70 tomorrow. I plan to get out tomorrow morning (thinking my stand not the blind) and tonight is up in the air.
I'm going to be out tomorrow morning then hanging/moving trail cameras. Don't have much confidence for tomorrow morning hunt but thought I would least go out and try since I have to hang new cameras and move a couple. Then I probably won't be back out until Wednesday next week.
If I wasn’t going out of town I would try to go out. I love hunting big temperature changes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Seen one buck this morning, 27 yards, no shot. A stand I only say in opening morning. In same stand the past two hours, cleared some limbs earlier, just waiting. Was a warm day, so probably won't move for awhile still.
That’s a nice buck. Hopefully he will make a mistake. They are taking the corn down out at my lease. We will be getting out a couple times this week. I need to adjust the peep sight on the Hoyt first. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yall make me seem like that annoying person that doesnt shut up lol. The bucks seem to be starting to cruise on camera. Will try and make it out every day after work. Going to stay in my stand as it seems that is where I am getting pictures of legal bucks. I have a friend that loaned us a cross-gun. Not my choice, but this one is a lot smaller then the other I had the opportunity with. I still can't cock it though. So, alas, will be out tonight with my compound.
Sounds like a good plan Kristen. I’m hoping we can get out this week as well. I agree with your observations about the bucks cruising. I’ll probably pull the buck decoy out this week too especially with the corn being down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What buck decoy do you have? Was looking at some online but ended up not pulling the trigger on one. Never used a decoy but always wanted to.
I have the flambeau Boss buck decoy. It’s a fun way to hunt. I like it when I’m hunting cut corn. It will bring them in from a long way. I killed this 130s buck over it a few years ago. Definitely don’t be afraid to try it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I shot this guy on a decoy about 10 years ago. I have the primos decoy. Last light he ran to the back of the decoy and sniffed his ass, heart shot, he went maybe 20 yards
Nothing on (my) camera so far today. But been set up about 30 minutes. It's a beautiful 70° but temps drop fast. About hour and half of shooting time left.
Might have to order one tonight. My bow shop i go to had a rinehart buck decoy about a month ago and i almost bought it. My RX7 should be here late this week or early next week he said. If i find a deal on one online i’ll just order one if not might see if he still has one at the shop. Any luck Kristen!? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
