Made it out in the snow this morning, luckily most of the 12+ inches has melted. Heard a few gobbles this morning but haven’t had any birds come through yet.
I think in a couple days they will turn on Man lots of mud to walk through to get to my spots snow should be all but gone end of the day today
Going to leave work early and hunt Monday morning after the uneventful Saturday I had I gave Sunday a break. Hopefully after this beautiful day we just had it will get them going.
Well big tom came out pushing 4 hens wanted nothing to do with me should of set up 20 more yards further ! Could have had a great shot hopefully i can call aomething else in or they loop back around
Keep at it man. I'll be trying to get out in the woods tomorrow and bag me a tom. Just curious, Are you hunting with decoys? Sent from my LG-M150 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
This time yes dont seem to work to well when its 6 hens and one tom! He could care less of anything but them 2 more just popped out but went right back in a hen and tom Man i hate these things Would of had 2 dead bird with shotgun 2 diffrent days but for some reason bow hunting is life
Glad you see some of you getting out. I won't really start hunting for a couple more weeks. I typically hunt with a bow like I would with a gun. I have a bow holder I stick in the ground to my left , towards the decoys, and sit at the base of the tree. I gave up the blind...too much to carry and I don't like sitting in them - although the new Primos Double Bull SurroundView 360° intrigues me. My season is 24 days long and I get out often. Kind of have to get lucky to draw on them without being seen. Fun Fun. Hit 'em high...watch 'em die. Hit 'em low...watch 'em go!
Well shucks i hate it when they dont send me notifications missed 3 days worth of conversation ugh...finially starting to warm up in wisconsin my season doesnt till next week so they should be hot and ready by then America...Love it or Leave it
I don’t know about anyone else hunting Wisconsin but I had them patterned until the snow storm a couple weeks ago and that completely shut them down. Didn’t have more than a few pictures of birds this last week and of course that’s when I have my tag for. I think I might have to go and get a tag for a different week now
Next time I get out is friday morning i think i have this tom i am after patterned out switching up tactics going to go with a stutting decoy this time i think that will piss him off. He puffed up at my other decoy and went right down and walked away. Hoping that friday is the day. Also had another tom pop out quick behind a hen but then went right back to the swamp roght away. I think with the strutting decoy and a slight change in blind placement i should be money
I'm going to try hunting tonight and tomorrow since I don't have work. We have 70° weather here so I sure they will be moving early in the morning. Sent from my LG-M150 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Nope. Had a few gobbles but nothing came into view. I'm boxed in with private all around and they seem to like that more than public(wonder why) Sent from my LG-M150 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well I had one that gobbled at my call I sat tight and waited for him to come to me Then I look in the field on the other side of the tree line and there he was strutting away straight across from me. Gave him another call and he disappeared from view was hoping he would had over my way but never saw him again. I then had to leave because the wind was trying to blow me away. I passed on hunting today to do spring things around the house (get the boat out, lawnmower, take down Christmas lights, and clean the garage.) I am giving it another go tomorrow morning. Man this turkey is just giving me the slip every time. I am starting to get a vendetta against him. The neighbor called me and said that he was at his other property about 30 mins west of the land I am hunting now and said he saw 4 toms and 3 hens in the field. I sent my uncle out there tonight he didn't see any he is hunting it in the morning if he has success I will be trying it mid week as well.
They were gobbling like crazy this morning again they wanted nothing to do with me and they went otherside of treeline and strutted in corner of neighbors field! I am sitting there next time i am out, oks like 820amhey go there the last two times I have been out
