    Hey Guys
Sorry I haven't been on for a few weeks, great Job TJF and Shed. We had record snowfall here in Alberta and the last time I checked all bucks had their headgear still 2 weeks ago. We had a melt off of about 2 feet up here in Edmonton ,then came the snow and cold again. Can't win, going above 0 for the next 4 days so I'll get out my Cross Country Skis and do some fields this weekend. Not count'in on finding any though, to much snow for the time being ,maybe I'll see some tips sticking up through the snow though. Plus I can't seem to find mine or my wife's camera's, LMAO. Both been missing since the end of the season, go figure. We'll do a house search starting Monday. Dang grandkids:ninja:

It's amazing you are still seeing bucks with head gear on... especially with the winter you are having. Tyler and I saw well over 200 deer last Saturday. They are herded up good here with all the snow. Only one buck carrying and it was a young, spike buck.

    Good luck this weekend !!!

    Got Out Yesterday
Well I hadn't stepped over the fence and there getting up out of a bed was a doe and 6 others waiting till dark to move across the road to the Alfalfa bales . They go there every winter when the snow get's deep. I checked there 1st for drop's but none to be had.
As I watched the doe's head back into the main bush I noticed in the corner a lone deer and it was much bigger than the does that had gone back into the bush. Put my bino'es on him and sure enough it was high tower to whom I tried drawing on, on November 15th.
The biggest 4x4 I have ever seen, guessing him at 180+ ,I knew it was him because of his scar across his right hindquarter. This had my hopes up because he had no head gear.
They should be close as the deer seemed to be yarded up. Well I had such an easy time accessing the area this time on my snowshoes. Big difference when the snow shoes don't sink to your knees every step. The snow on the fields was about 2 1/2' deep and as I stepped over the fence into the main bush it was much deeper.Snow was up to the top wire on the fence and deeper further in to the bush.
I ended up seeing 3 anterless buck's and 9 doe's in 3 hours of hiking ,and found my windfall hopefully of a tree for my stand to finally zone in on High Tower. I have hunted this spot for 5 years and leave it till the rut turns on. Over those 5 years I have had close encounters with 6 different Booner's with only drawing on High Tower this year at 47 yards.
I truly believe this stand placement will allow me to get a shot off,so even though I didn't make any finds today I did find a honey hole for this up coming season. I'll have to wait another few weeks to get back out again. Good luck to the rest of you who have time to get out .

Me and my father went out this afternoon looking sheds and scouting. Trying to come up w/ a game plan for a buck he's been chasing for the last two years now. Found a buck bed but no sheds. This shed hunting is kicking my butt! Im not quite sure though if they have started dropping in masses yet. Ill keep getting out there though.

Heading out with my sons tomorrow to look for some sheds. We got permission to shed hunt a property where I had glassed a 140 this summer, hitting that first then off to the old stomping grounds.

Best of luck tomorrow with your sons. Sounds like it will be a very good, fun outing.

Tyler is back for the weekend and Britney wants to get out. I think Tyler and I will check out a few spots in the mornng when it is cold. More of a scouting trip then shed hunt but you never know. Grab Britney in the afternoon and hit a good spot close to home.

Good luck to everyone who is tromping this weekend !!

I found a small shed from last year that was pretty chewed up. Also got my car stuck, all in all, a great day. :D

Congrats on the shed !! I'll get it added.

Know all about being stuck. So far only 3 times this winter. LOL

Dave - Must've been something in the water giving us all a big batch of bad juju. I found 3 sheds on Saturday in 10-12 miles of hiking, and I wound up coming home with just one (the smallest one)!

The first one, I spotted a big old 4x side right in front of my buddy. I should've just shut up and let him find it, but instead, (like a total A-Hole) I blurted out that I found one (15 yards away from me, and 10 ft in front of him). He was clearly going to find it, so I told him to keep it. It was maybe 53", 2 years old and cracking apart. Then, I found a decent 3 pointer, which I accidentally left laying on the ground about a mile from the car when I stopped to have a drink.

All in all, I traveled 175 miles round trip to bring home a 7" long fork. I found its match last week, so at least it completed my smallest set of all time.

I also shed hunted 2 hours longer than I was supposed to, so my wife was nice and pissed.

Nice work Dave! Its a start!

Tim you finding more??? I got a text pic!

For me, lots of snow and lots of business I am dealing with in my free time with my moms condition. I hope to get back out maybe next week. This weekend is a NO go for me.. I have commitments, good luck to everyone shedding now. :)

I found a dink shed last Saturday. Tyler found two sheds. The biggest one he found is the one I texted you. This snow is killing us. Not even sure If it is worth going out this weekend. I doubt if Tyler will even come home. We are back in the freezer for a few days now.
