I have had a couple more gobbling around me, one is in the field to the north walking the fence line, he just won't come in. Thinking I am early with the strutter, gonna go buy me a jake decoy before my next hunt.
I only have a feeder hen and a foam jake from walmart. I know the guy across the creek had a jake fan, and a hen put out when he had one come in, that was two weeks ago.
I'm using a feeder hen, a content hen, and my strutter. Had good luck with just a strutter last year around this time.
Well day 1 is in the books for me, called it a day a few hours early. I was tired, cold, hungry, and had some bad *** heart burn. Not a bad day, seen a nice tom, heard several others, and had a few hens mosey by. Will be back out for a hunt Friday morning then heading to Illinois to film for a buddy sat/sun.
Still out chasing em guys. The weather has made more than a challenge. But I'm hoping I can get it done tomorrow. My 6 yr old daughter will be going with me. So maybe that will change my luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll be heading out this weekend again, and probably on Tuesday as well. Then I'm off to Connecticut to see my soon to be born niece and the rest of the family. I'm even going to get some ocean fishing in with my dad. I'll miss out on a weekend but I'll take the trade off. Was going to bring my bow to Ct but apparently their season starts the 30th so I'll miss that. Tennessee closes May 11th so I'm running out of time. I would at least like to bag one more before the seasons over. Get after them fellas, I'm ready to see some pictures.
Today is the last day of my gracious 5 day Illinois season Gobbles all around us all morning then nothing till about 8. Finally one gobbled close by but never showed up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well here is the score 20lbs 9 3/4 in beard 1 in left spur 7/8 in right spur 20+10+8.75+19.5=58.25 Working on the video and all now, am not gonna post in the score card yet in case I do get another bird. Did review my footage and I have great footage up until the shot, I jumped the trigger a little and he was not in frame, all you see is my arrow and feathers flying, it really sucks, but oh well, it is my first go at filming. Still got a dead bird!!!
here is what i have done so far on the editing. May add/change a few things sometime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-k0OhFhiit8&feature=youtu.be
