Nice Siman. Haven't been on the forums much...house things, you know:D Some of you may have caught my post on the PA spring opener thread. I called in a very nice tom Saturday morning. He came in with 2 (possibly 3) hens. I had him spitting and drumming, double gobbling, and strutting in front of me for almost 30 minutes just out of range. Once the hens parted him (which I was relieved they did so), I battled it out with him for another 15 minutes or so. Finally, he came in, circled around from the side. At ~20yds, I put the bead on him and pulled the trigger. Nothing. Pulled again. Nothing. Turns out, my dad noticed something wrong with my gun the other day, but failed to mention that part:D It's ok, though. I was upset at first, but hey, that's hunting. It's something with the sear/firing pin, so I will have a gunsmith take a look at it, and I will be take the back-up in this Saturday. Good luck to everyone.

    Hey team, haven't abandoned ya's.

Matt / PA hunted with me the first two days (Saturday and Monday) and I was able to pull in a silent longbeard for Matt. I was working a group in front of us when this guy snuck in behind us to hit the hen that was calling oh so sweet. :d

This is Matt's very first PA Longbeard and a 3 year attempt for us.

Hey everybody, I haven't abandoned you all either. Been unbelievably busy with teaching and coaching. My WI season was May 20 thru May 24 and it was absolutely lousy. This is the very last season in WI and the one I had the great fortune of drawing this year. Saw a few birds, but nothing would respond to calling. Tried moving my blind to set up in travel areas, feeding areas, you name it and no luck. I'm really sorry about that. Congrats to those of you who were lucky enough to tag a bird. This is a bummer, first tag I had to eat in 5 years; and tag soup really isn't all that tasty!
