Nope. Not weird at all. I remember where I was and I remember what I posted in our team thread: “Wait! Joe shot a buck?” That was a fun year.
Dang you guys have killed some studs!!! Little background about me, names Adam I’m from Lancaster PA, I work in the archery/hunting/firearms industry, I’ve been hunting since I turned 12, still trying to get my first PA archery buck, I’ve killed bucks in NC with the bow while I was in college and then I got a pretty nice buck 2 years ago in MD. I should be good for atleast 50 points this year but I’m hoping to finally put a Pa buck down. NC buck 2015 MD buck 2019
Hey Joe... I put you, Heckler, and Fix in a 'Chat Room' https://forums.bowhunting.com/conversations/contest-team.106818/ Keep in touch.
Sorry I couldn't get on last night guys. IDA dumped over 4" of rain and we lost power at our house just a little after noon yesterday. It came back on at 11:25 PM and then at 3:25 this morning when I was getting up it went back off. A lot of uprooted trees around due to the saturated ground. Looks like I got drafted to be Captain. I'm ok with that unless someone else really wants it.
I guess we are officially all checked in and based on the number of posts, we are all actively participating and that is what makes this contest fun. As the season begins, just remember to enjoy God's creation first and shoot what makes you happy. A trophy is in the eyes of the shooter and a trophy is different in every state. I would encourage everyone to re-read the rules about pictures and requirements for entering. It's real easy to forget something in the excitement and heat of the moment. I believe we have the team that can take the win this year.
It seems like we got a good bunch of guys with some studs notched under each of our belts! Gonna be a great year!
I know it's already been said, but does really do keep you in the game. The last three champs killed 9, 6 and 8 does respectively. Bucks are just bonus points.
It may be October until you see mid 50's in SC. Doesn't your season start in August? I can't imagine setting in a deer stand with 80 - 90 degree temps. I guess you get used to it but you would have to get the deer on ice ASAP.
In certain game zones it does. But I hunt public land so it doesn't start til September 15th. The 18th will be my first day on stand. My company doesn't allow anyone to take off in September. It will probably be November by the time we start seeing those Temps consecutively.
