Mornin Scott! Ehh, the more I get done, the more it keeps piling up! I'm working on it!! I have a one major paper left (10-15 pages), and a few smaller ones. I'm hoping to start gettin some tree time in next week. I still have bow tags but its shotgun season through Sunday. I can only hunt weekends. I won't be going with the bow much until Christmas time. Working 12 hr days again.
Hoping to still get out a weekend or 2 in December, but i have about 10 Christmas orders i'm working on for my side hustle, and those are keeping be busy most night. still plan to tag something, just not sure when i'll make it out yet.
So I probably won't be able to get out this weekend. Have a side job on Saturday, and my folks are leaving town this Sunday to head back home. I'll definitely be back out on the 11th. Joe you are absolutely right in saying we can still make this happen. If the remaining team members that having taken a doe yet, took one, we would be way out in the lead.
I will start hunting hard again after the antlerless shotgun season next weekend. Then I have through Jan 9th I believe. The smaller bucks are relaxing again. Haven’t had much for big bucks on cam. My food plots have some food left in them but not much. Still enough to attract deer for sure. 50 points are all but a guarantee providing we don’t get like two feet of snow that I can’t get my ATV down to the land. Still hoping to score a buck, but it’ll have to be a good one. My standards don’t change. I will shoot that bigger 8 I passed earlier this season however. He and a handful of other bucks made it through gun season. My father in law and nephew both shot 3 year olds toward the end of the gun season. My father in law shot the 11 I passed multiple times. Super happy for him. I knew full well that he or my kids would probably shoot it if they saw it and I was totally ok with that. He was thrilled. My nephew scored his biggest buck to date as well. The neighbors found a near 160” dead opening day of gun. I am doing a Euro mount for their clubhouse. I’ll keep you guys posted.

Well I doubt I'll be out this weekend. I had a buddy call me and said that he needed some help with an emergency repair on his house in North Carolina. Hoping to be back out next weekend. I like hunting around Christmas. Find the food source, you will find the deer. I took my biggest buck last year the morning after Christmas. My wife wasn't real happy when I asked her Christmas day, shortly after lunch, if she would mind if I went to Ohio, but the rest is history. My dad got a picture of a 140" plus buck in Ohio at his one stand the only time he didn't hunt in on Tuesday evening.
Well I just got a little glimmer of hope. My buddy just told me we aren't able to do what we need to on Saturday due to the weather they're supposed to be getting. So looks ill be back on stand on Saturday! Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
I'm thinking of going out saturday for the last day of rifle but its going to be raining and almost 70 degrees, plus my freezer is pretty full at the moment.... I did get a picture of a nice buck down in MD last night, our foodplot has been attracting a lot of does mostly at night. Hoping that little foodplot pays off in the late muzzleloader season when i have another buck tag. I may shoot another doe if given the opportunity. Hope you all are doing well!
