Glad to hear your actually seeing deer now! And that your going to continue to hunt this late season! Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
Thanks Nick, me too! The early season kicked my butt for sure. I think it was because of such a HUGE acorn crop this year, the deer didn't have to move to eat. They could stay in cover, and eat.
Man Joe you were zeroing in on that 8. Crazy that the season ends on a Tuesday. I think if you would have had another day or 2 you would have had a crack at him. I can’t wait to hear your stories on the Archery only forest. It’s a new adventure. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Sorry been away for a while. Have only been able to get out 2 times in the last little bit, haven’t been seeing much unfortunately. Gun season here in Kentucky and both of my potential shooters were killed by neighbors… although in years past new ones have shown up this time of year Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I know when the gun season starts in Ohio, we always have new bucks show up. Most of the time there bigger than anything we had previously seen. Good luck there’s still plenty of season left. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well our 1st place was short lived but we can easily reclaim it. Let’s give them a run for their money. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
He'll be even better next year if he survives the orange army! He was slipping up the past few mornings. When I was walking out, I walk about 100 yards away from his bedding area, I said in a loud voice, "You better smarten up boy, or you aren't gonna live to see thanksgiving" LOL!
That’s hilarious! I guess you got the last word in on him. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well gun season started Monday here in Michigan. had no activity this past weekend. I'll be out all weekend so hoping that other hunters are pushing deer. looking to take anything. but current plan is to continue to hunt thru December, as long as the wife allows it.
The deer widow. I can appreciate that. Good luck this weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I guess my body needed a few days off from hunting as well. Had a hypertension crisis yesterday and spent a few hours at the ER. BP was 201/122...good times. Looking forward to Monday and checking out the new spot!
Wow, that is stroke level. Is it the papers that you needed to get done that caused it? Hunting is my escape. It's my time to spend with God and his creation and clear my head from all the stress that my job creates. Hope your doing better.
I think it was slowly rising since the summer. I've felt a bit dizzy the past week or so and thought it was because I came off a different med. Yesterday it was worse and I had a bit of a headache. I realized it was most likely from high BP. I'm actually a stroke survivor, I had one in 2016. It was not due to high BP though, I had a tear in a vein in the back of my neck. Why I'm alive, the doctors can't explain. They said from the amount of bleeding I had, they'd seen 99% of patients paralyzed, dead, or paralyzed on one side from the same type of stroke. I have a few residual side effects, balance issues, and a slight droop in the right side of my face, mostly my right eye. I do feel better today though, and have an appointment with my PCP on December 16th.
Well got a doe with the boom stick this morning to take the pressure of wanting meat off. Moving a stand this afternoon and I’ll be back out with the bow tonight. Should have some good movement, little snow on the ground and does have been on their feet the past few days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Last day of PA archery season and I decided to take the day off of work. Good thing I did. I had this buck come by 35 minutes after legal shooting light. Man I love those Rage 2 blade broadheads. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
