Update from the stand. First morning sit. Feel a little sore from the accident still, but almost back to 100%. Really got tested this morning but ultimately passed on a mature 8. Probably going to kick myself, but hopefully not. He was bumping a couple doe and I watched him for 20 minutes and could’ve shot him twice. Once at 12 yards. Laid down some cool footage. It's definitely hard to pass buck like that. Glad to see he's moving in daylight. That means we are real close for the big ones to lose their minds.
Looks like I'll be back in the stand on Saturday. Hopefully i can get back to where I want to hunt. Ended up having to take the truck to the dealership. Blew the water pump yesterday. So it's being replaced this morning.
I'll be headed out to Ohio after work tomorrow and be on stand Saturday morning. I was going to take tomorrow off and go out tonight but they are calling for 3/4" of rain. I don't need to set thru that.
I will be back on stand saturday morning in PA for a doe, then sunday I will head down to MD late morning/early afternoon for an evening sit where the big boys have been showing up. Good luck out there guys!
Didn't see a damn thing today. Heading out in the morning till 10. wind and rain for Saturday. Next week the weather looks perfect for early November. I'll be hitting it hard and probably be doing sits 3/4 of the day till 2pm. I don't like leaving my dogs in their cage for longer than 8 hours. It's not fair to them. My wife leaves for work around 6 am.
Sorry to hear you didn't see anything today Joe. Glad to see your staying positive. The best is yet to come. Points and dead deer are going to start flying this weekend and next week.
