LOL! That is awesome, enjoy it Josh!!!

I'm debating an afternoon sit in the drizzle. Were gonna get hammered with a Nor'easter tonight into Wednesday with heavy rain and heavy wind. The pressure will be dropping and they might be on a feeding pattern sensing it. However, it does make it possible that if a shot isn't a good one, I could lose the deer with the heavy rain coming. I'm battling opposing voices in my head right now...lol!!

I hear you. I play out those scenarios in my head all the time. You can't kill them from the couch.

Congratulations! I'm always impressed with those who choose to use traditional equipment and make shots like that. Way to go!

Oh... so then I shouldn't mention the freak nasty swamp buck that I air balled on last Tuesday evening? lol 17 yds on the ground and I whiffed hard but man it was a sweet encounter and I wasn't even mad. Had I choked like that with my Mathews I'd have been beating myself up for a week. But with the stick bow... I dug that arrow out of the tree, sharpened the BH back up and just smiled.
Redemption on Mr Spike felt good though. not gonna lie. That's 2 MI tags filled 2 more in my pocket. Headed back to KY next week and then KS the 3rd week of Nov :) I have a lot of work to do.

lil bit, the real trouble is he got me thinking. Thinking about the shot, distance, etc. I CANNOT think when I shoot the stick bow. Minds gotta be clear, focused on "the spot" and nothing else. When I do that the arrow goes where I look every time. Start thinking about it and it is game over. lol

The exact opposite of the process I have disciplined myself to over the last decades with a compound. Get a range, set or pick a pin, draw, anchor, check levels, etc. Lots of thinking / checking / process. Exactly what I was running from. I do not even carry a range finder anymore.

Adam, you have plenty of time to get your doe. Don't sweat it.

But you have recovery pics to prove that you found him. Hmm!

EDIT: I just reread the rules...Chief has it spelled out pretty clearly. Oh well, guess you'll have to whack another one. Bummer!

Feeling grateful to be on stand tonight. Got into a pretty bad accident on the way home from work this morning. Had a guy pull out to turn left right in front of me on a county hwy as I was going 60 mph. I was able to swerve just enough to miss his drivers side door. He went to the hospital with a minor hip injury and I have a few bumps and bruises and minor burns from the airbag, but thanking God as it could have been so much worse. I’m just happy to be alive and injury free and happy he was relatively ok as well.

Hoping God continues to shine down on me and sends a big one my way tonight!

Congrats on the ferg buck tackle box!

Adam that sucks but you'll definitely have a chance especially if you head to Maryland for a doe.

Aaron sorry to hear about the accident! Glad to hear everyone is ok for the most part and only minor injuries.

Well I'm gonna be out of the stand till November. My trucks cv axle is bad and will have to take this Saturday to replace it and make sure everything else with the truck is alright. Currently wrapping eyes on fishing rods. This one is for a good friend that's heading to Ocracoke Island next week. I still have 2 more to custom build. But luckily I've got plenty of time for them. Glad to hear your ok Aaron. I'm sure you will really feel it tomorrow morning. I still feel pain everyday from getting T-Boned at 55 mph when a guy ran a red light in 2008. I'm lucky to be alive to but doesn't mean we still don't feel it everyday.

IMG_2295.jpg IMG_2292.jpg IMG_2291.jpg Had this buck show up for the first time last night in Ohio. I'm estimating 135". I don't know if I really want to see him or not. With High & Tight still showing up at night, he is my number 1 target.

My brother left cams up in Illinois and got pics of a big 8 that my dad missed on our hunting/camping/kayaking trip. At the time, we didn't believe his story about how big the buck was...

Finally got out this past weekend and saw 2 small does but not that desperate just yet… lol… however, I am currently stuck in quarantine right now… nope, not the ‘rona but apparently my family picked up bed bugs somewhere and now I have to deal with that, luckily it’s only in one room (for now) so hopefully can take care of them myself without having to pay an exterminator
