Ended up seeing 10 deer this morning, moved my sticks for a better tree for tomorrow morning, going to be set up over a scrape this evening that had 6 different bucks at it last night!
Haven’t had a chance to hunt yet. Head to Kansas on 06 Nov. I got new new mobile base camp this weekend.
Just figured I'd let you know I finally got this DVD! Hopefully this will help me get some more encounters.
Sat again tonight. Wind switched more southerly than forecasted, but kept my windows closed in the one stand I could to combat. Had the nice 10 from last night come out in the same exact location right under the stand I want to be sitting in, but cannot due to the wind. I’ve never had a more killable buck that’s currently so unkillable because of winds! If he holds pattern through Thursday, I will get in tight on him on Thursday evening. Strong front pushing through Wednesday evening through Thursday morning and then clearing and N winds dying down toward evening. If his pattern holds, which isn’t likely but I’m crossing my fingers, I feel good about Thursday evening. Still shot from a video I took. Circles are the buck and the stand I need to be in.
My target buck in Ohio "High & Tight" showed up at first light this morning on cell cam. I'm headed out there on Friday morning to be on stand for an afternoon hunt. Hopefully I get a crack at him this weekend. If I had been on stand there this morning, it would be over but I'm stuck at work.
I watched the first DVD and figured that were I was hunting today was perfect! So i didn't feel bad for leaving my stand there when i came in earlier. And it definitely paid off. even though I didn't get a shot to see two deer at once is something that has never happened to me on this particular WMA.
Oh nice!! Sounds like you're in the right spot! Just put your time in, and its gonna happen! I keep telling myself the same thing! Where I hunt, unless I am hunting specific buck beds (before the rut), I am a needle in a 9000-acre haystack. The doe are nomadic and just wander on a 3-5 day rotation. You have to hope you time it right. The rut I can focus on terrain that promotes cruising bucks, top 1/3 of hills/ridges, saddles, etc.. That starts next week for me!
Thanks I definitely will! That sounds awesome! Hope you get on a big one! Thanks for the dvd recommendation too!
Good Luck this morning Team. I just have a feeling something big is going to die this week and our points are going to take a big jump. You all are sure putting in the time on stand, so it just a matter of when.
I got a good feeling something is going to happen today! Hope that big one walks in front of Adam! Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
