I love being in the woods the first few days of November, I like being there when the chasing starts happening, to me that is the best! However, I know the big boys don't really get going until the end of the first week and halfway into the second week of November. If I were you, I'd go with what you have, 4-11th. There is nothing that can compare to the rut in the midwest!!
I did some really good last minute scouting to pick out a tree to saddle hunt from for our PA opener here on saturday. Ended up walking up on about a 100inch 8point that never spooked and just fed off (acorns everywhere) then my dad and I went the other direction and after about 60 yards of acorns and fresh sign we walked up on 3 does, found a good tree to get up in. Feeling very confident for opening day!!
That's awesome news. I know that acorns are falling all over the place at my house. I did see a 6 point in my back yard last evening. I need to pull my trail cam card and see if there is anything bigger than that here at home in PA. I don't go back to Ohio until 10/08.
I probably won't be going out again until next week. I have school tonight until 10, then an hour ride home. 3 hours of sleep at best. Tomorrow night, we're going to a concert (Korn/Staind) and won't be home until well after midnight. If it was November or late October, I'd suck it up, but it is still early and I don't want to burn myself out. I've done that a few times and have to control myself so it doesn't happen.
Joe the season has only begun and the best is yet to come. You'll have plenty of time to get it done later. Go enjoy yourself and definitely don't burn yourself out. 3 Hours is not enough sleep.
I'll be at a property on Saturday, but it's to split firewood. I do it every year to earn my hunting privileges. Sunday looks like a rain out.
I'll be heading back to where I missed that buck, on Saturday morning. Probably will head back to the house around 10 or 11 then back out to the stand around 2 in the afternoon. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk

Good Luck tomorrow Kyle. First time out for the season is a great feeling. Temperatures continue to be low in our area and the deer have been more active.
Thanks! Got the truck unloaded and getting ready to wash my camo. I've got a good feeling about tomorrow! I think that buck will show back up. And this time I'm going deeper and will be ready for him. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
