Got out yesterday for an evening hunt… either saw 5 fawns or one fawn 5 different times lol… I’m on the struggle bus so far this year Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I spent the afternoon teaching my 15 year old niece to shoot a shotgun. She decided that she wants to hunt during the youth firearms season this year. We have 3 weeks before she can hit the woods. She shot ok, we will see if she can sit still lol.
Looks like we dropped to 2nd place due to Team 6 entering 2 does. I'm sure it will be short lived. Can't wait until Saturday morning.
No luck with the riding lawnmower. It is definitely not getting a spark. I followed the wire from the plug and didn't find any fraying or anything out of the ordinary. Took the cap off, tried a new plug just for ****s and giggles and nothing. I then held the cap and turned the key. No electric clicking coming from the cap, which means no spark. It is an older mower from the late 90s but was hoping to get through the season with it. I do have an 18" push mower with a bagger, but we have over an acre of grass. That being said, I'm still going out hunting this afternoon!!
Andddddddd My wife just texted me to remind me of the dogs having a vet appointment at 3. Ugh, no hunt for me this afternoon. Oh well, it's only september.
So apparently 2021 is the year I have no time to hunt… took a week off.. had to help my dad build a deck… have a few weekends avail and am being forced into going to the Renaissance festival… for the second time this year (going at least 2 more times apparently including youth weekend when I was planning on taking my son out hunting) my wife’s brother is a “cast member” so we get discounted tickets but still doesn’t change the fact that I would rather be hunting. Can’t seem to catch a damn break. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I can't think of anything more unappealing sounding than a Renaissance festival. You have my condolences.
Sorry to hear. I'm sure it will lighten up for you. Hopefully they have some good beer at the Renaissance festival. Maybe you'll get lucky and get a get out of going card. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
You have to keep the family happy but you also need alone time for hunting. It refreshes the soul. Make the most of the time you get. Hopefully luck will be on your side when you get a chance to get out.
As a mental health counselor in training, my answer to that is no. A relationship is an equal commitment by both parties, each requiring their fair share of compromise. However, women do not feel this applies to them...LOL!!
Looks like we finally have some decent weather starting next Monday. Supposed to rain the next few days into Saturday morning. So I probably won’t go out again until possibly Saturday afternoon, but will definitely be putting plenty of time in starting on Monday.
man i love the look of those temps! we are going to be about 5 degrees warmer here but going into the opener for PA 10/2 it looks like high of 72 low of 52 so ill take it!
I stopped on my way home from work and set up a blind and cam on a property that I occasionally hunt. I use to share the 50 acres with 1 other bowhunter and the gun hunting owner...we would see some beasts in there. Now, the owner picked up a crossbow and let another kid on for bow...I didn't even get a pic of a 120+ last year. We'll see how it goes this year.
