No I've never had one. Though I've bought several for everyone else. I was thinking about getting one for myself. But we usually have that coastal breeze that tends to keep them away. Now that the sun has come up they arent picking on me so bad lmao Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
I got my final stand set up at home today. It's next to a white oak and a creek in a funnel. Should be a good spot. Still have a stand to check at my family ground. At this point I am just waiting for October.
Goose egg for me tonight. Ya really gotta work for it where I hunt. I'll be out Monday or Tuesday afternoon!
Same here. But I did find a new spot to try. As I was heading in and out of the wma, I saw several deer in the same place. Going to get in there tomorrow and scout it out. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
Working all weekend so not hunting the opener in WI. Also supposed to be 87 tomorrow. Monday looks better. Had a crazy amount of activity on camera today from 11:30 AM-7:15 PM off and on for most of the day. Just doe and small bucks but they were on their feet for some reason. Might go out Monday night, otherwise probably the weekend. Need to get my 50 points on the board early!
Yeah this area looks a little more promising. as the deer were there multiple times through out the day. As I was heading out last night i saw 3 or 4 deer standing right by the road near the creek that runs under it. So I'm going to go in a little bit and get a camera hung on each side of the road in hopes of catching them in there.
I will check cams on Wed/Thurs and make an opening day plan from there. If nothing else, I will take one of the kids out for an evening sit in a blind. Our basement flooded a couple months back and all the hunting stuff got moved upstairs. Today's task is to find my Scent Crusher unit and to sort some camo...
Sounds like a plan Josh. I just got all my clothes washed last night and have them outside drying and getting natural scents on them. I live in the mountain and have trees all around, so it's perfect to leave them out.
Mine would smell like the neighbor's laundry, whatever the other neighbor is grilling and probably cat piss.
Tempted to go out tomorrow morning for a hunt instead of an afternoon hunt. Mornings are so much easier. supposed to be a low around 50 as well. decisions decisions!
Ehh...it would be taking the easy way out. lol! I need to attempt to fix my riding lawn mower in the morning, stalled on me today. Turns over, getting gas, just not firing. I sprayed a bit of ether in the air intake and it still wasn't firing. The engine was to hot to check the plug and wires this afternoon.
Get that thing fixed and then get back out there joe! Lol wish I could say that was my day tomorrow. I'm currently reloading my truck for work in the morning..... Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
I'm very fortunate with my school schedule, although the workload of grad school is crazy. This will be the last year I can spend this much time in the woods until I retire. Next year, my final year in school is all clinical internships, then I'll be working like everyone else! This is my year to make it happen, to get a big mature public land buck. It's gonna happen this year, might have to wait till first week of november when I go deep to the sweet spot. 2 1/2 mile walk,,,but a dream setup that has lived up to my expectations.
Your gonna get'em Joe! That looks like an awesome area to hunt! I wish the boss would understand when I call in and say my arm is in a sling that I'm out hunting and not actually hurt! Enjoy every moment of it that you can! Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
