Keep at it PT! If you get frustrated and burned out, you just gotta take a break for a few days then you'll be ready to go back out.

    It happens man. No worries.

I'm looking to do some scouting on Sunday since there's no hunting on public land here in MD. Then Tuesday I will be out all day. Will probably hunt a small ridge / hillside in the AM then move to check my camera (fingers crossed its still there) and let that determine where I sit for the evening.

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been on lately.

Anyway I killed a pretty nice buck (For Me that is) on October 27th at 5:30pm. After I cut the antlers off I set them down and the dog ran off with them. Before I could score them. He had a 16in spread and 19in main beams.

Anyway my question is, should I wait and keep looking for the antlers or just take 50 pts. for him? I'm guesing he is about 75 to 80 ins. You guys decide. I'll put two pics of him in this post and If ya'll think we should just take 50 for him then can Preacher Tony please enter him for me. I won't have access to a computer for I don't know how long.

    Here are the pics.

Let me check with Fitz to see if you can even count him as 50...I don't see why not as measurements are not required for a ferg buck...

Congrats on the buck!! and kill that dog! ;)

He can count for 50, so my advice is to find that rack .... that's at least 80" of bone and I am betting more ...

It's alright PT! I missed an absolutely monster the year before last at about 14 yards, and I can still see his beady eyes locked on me as I emerged from the beans at full draw... I still remember every little detail but I killed a great buck about 5 days after so keep your head up and it'll come back around.

I would definately try and find it, 30-40 points could be the difference in the end, you never know until it's all said and done!

I found the rack. He scored around 100. I don't have the measurements right know. Give me a few days and I'll try to get them up.

Update on my hunting season: Seeing lots of deer, saw one shooter buck today. Trying to put another doe down.

Well everyone it seems that they are moving pretty well here in Steuben County. As I was walking to my stand I saw a 110" eight point that I have on cam standing 30yds away from my stand with a doe. If only I was there earlier! That was a little depressing for me but I climbed up into the stand anyway. A few minutes later at about 415 a great 10 pt that I have no pictures of comes running up the ridge at about 70 yds chasing a doe. I tried everything I could to get him to close the distance up the hill but he wouldn't budge. I saw a couple more yearling bucks before dark but no big boys showed up. Good luck to everyone going out this week; hopefully I'll be able to get it done this weekend.

Defiantely starting to rut pretty good here, went out this weeked seen some small buck chasing and sparring but no shooters. Definately going to try and get out after school all this week and for sure next weekend to a nice peice of a first year private property, so not sure what it holds but in a spot with some great potential for a 130-150 buck. Good luck everyone

I like going out in the snow. Hopefully i'll get a chance to do that this year.

My all day sit today turned into a half day, half sit. I was in the stand till about 9:30 when I figured I would move and check my camera and let that determine where I'd sit this afternoon.

Long story short, no good pics, no deer sign, no buck sightings since last month and I spooked a doe this morning. Called it quits around noon. I'd rather be in the woods when things are heating up a little more.

I haven't been posting much but I've been hunting my tail off. Things have been slow for me, hopefully they pick up this weekend.
