I stayed home sat morning. It was already almost 70 degrees as I was leaving my apt at 4am. Too humid and too warm!

Should cool off today and then high in mid 60s and lows in 40s the rest of the week. Taking either Wednesday or Thursday off to go back out.

I almost got a doe on Tuesday. I don't really have much to say or want to talk about it but I pinned her high and I think she ducked some too. I am hoping to bounce back this weekend and connect with one but the weather seems to be going back up.

Went out yesterday with fellow bh.com member Lastoneout (Finny) saw tons of deer in the pouring rain. Got completely soaked in the evening. At some points I was miserable because of the weather but I was deer hunting.

Deer were staying mostly in the open cut corn fields and hedgerows, I guess they didn't like the sound of rain on the tree canopy. Eventually, driving rain forced me out of the tree and under a half fallen log. Around 5:30p I stepped out to check my surroundings and wound up stalking to within about 20 yards of a doe before I got winded. After that I packed up and headed to the car, got changed and waited for Finny. He texts me that he got a doe, good shot too. I get up there and we find the arrow and the deer which turns out to be a button buck only 40 yards from the shot.

A good ending to a tough day - deer on the ground and recovered all before 7:30 in the pouring rain. :tu:

We've all been there.... concentrate and don't let emotion get the best of you. Are you hunting the afternoon?
