Well it looks like I sold may have my BowTech Captain sold (guy is suppose to pick it up next week).... Now I can look at getting a new bow ordered :-)

I really like the black/tactical look, I'm just not 100% sure that it's worth the $75ish upgrade charge? Wondering if I should just stick with camo color or get what I really want.... That 75 would go a long ways toward a nice sight... On the other hand I like the split colors too - like a black riser and camo limbs or black limbs and camo riser.... Hmmmm

    Thoughts?

I'd go ahead and get what you really want. You would be happier in the long run.

Well pulled my camera today, and got a couple does and two almost shooters, andddd my camera died... haha didn't stay on more than two days. Kinda upset although there was deer and horns at that, so I replaced my batteries and reset my patience button. Ill let you know how it goes!

I've been working on a little project, just waiting for the camera battery to charge so I can test it out. Hopefully it's sturdy enough as to not cause the camera to lose focus during the shot.

Nice! I made a mount like that for my old bow. Worked pretty well but I wound up getting the muddy micro camera mount and putting it on a folding tree arm.

Hope it works for you though!

Well, there's good news and bad news for my camera mount. The good news is that it seems to work, I just need to hit it with some paint and get rid of the shiny metal look. The bas news is, my regular digital camera (with video capabilities) shuts off from the vibration of the shot. I tested the mount with our Sony Handycam and it works great, BUT, the flip out view finder has to be opened before it's put on the mount (by tightening the screw) because it can't flip open because of the grip and stabilizer. The other bad thing is the Sony Handycam make it too heavy, doable but heavy. So I either need to get a new camera or just resort to a tree mount for the Sony Handycam.

    Awesome buck Tony!! Get 'em!

Welp I'm headed out for the last cam check before the season starts! Hopefully no problems with the cam this time!

Can you try adding some of those stick on vibration dampener to the mount or camera? Maybe that'll help the shutting off problem? I think the same company that makes limbsavers makes them.

Finally got some pics even if it's only 7 days worth. Good-sized doe and just a few other doe pics and one doe fawn.

No worries Slider, in the rut where the does are the bucks will be there too! Nice pictures, love the fawn!

    Update on my camera mount:

I figured out what was causing the camera to turn off, battery (and maybe the memory card too) was vibrating off the contact points, and therefore losing power. I cut a thick rubber band and jammed it down the slot next to the battery to keep it tight. Presto! The dang thing works. So now I plan on hitting the mount with some paint and she's good to go. I managed to film while taking shots of the target as well as turning it around and filming myself taking the shot. So be prepared for some footage of my hunts this year! :woot:

Well I was going through some more gear this morning and noticed my muddy micro mount was cracked completely through one of the pivot joints, rendering it useless as a camera mount.

Just emailed their customer service. Hopefully they'll help me out and either replace that part or the whole thing.

Only four days till the opener so I probably wouldn't get a new one shipped from them in time so I just super-glued it together. Maybe it'll last me the first few hunts : /

I need to tell the team the most important thing if we are going to win....

    Hunt for YOURSELF.

Do not worry about the team as it will hurt more than help ...it us a fun contest ... Now let's meet our own individual goals and watch as we take this thing home ...
