Go get em NC, I was out hunting bear for the first time this season, felt great just to be out. Got to my bait that I put in on the 30th and checked my trail camera. Bait was destroyed and some good bears hitting it. No bears showed up tonight on my sit .. hunting off the ground with my long bow, 12-15 yard shot/natural ground blind. Gonna be hunting Yogi until I open up Sunday for bucks/bulls.

Opening day for bucks/bulls Sept 6th. Weather is calling for a 20 degree drop and 30-40% chance of rain on Sunday. I can't wait!

    That sounds like great weather!

I still have nothing to report. Between the moon and the wind/warmth its been slow. That's about normal here this time of year though. I'll let ya'll know if anything good shows up.

Just walked in from the morning hunt, whew did I get drenched, poured all morning from 5 am till 10 am. I finally got out of the tree and grabbed my trail camera that is taking pix of the mock scrape and licking branch I have set up about 14 yards from the stand. Lots of daylight buck visits by two different bucks in the past 6 days. one of the bucks is a 2.5 year old 4x4 and the other is a 3.5 year old 5x5. The 5x5 is gonna be tough to pass up. I was really hoping to get the big 6x5 in there hitting this scrape, hopefully the big boy will eventually as the younger guys are doing so now and does and a couple baby bucks are too. WInd is really bad today with this storm.. trying to make the right move for the evening hunt, may have to hunt a completely different area. I dont see this wind changing at all. Back at in a couple hours!

Hey TJF! Thanks bud, hope yours is going well too.. Nothing moved this morning for me in the pouring rain.

Shed- great lookin bucks and pics. Just today I made a mock scrape line with licking branches too, one being about 18 yards from the stand. The acorns are starting to fall, the weather is cooling.. it won't be long!

Missed a dandy buck opening evening, shot right over him. He was at the mock scrape pictured above. Coaching football tonight (my boys team) back at it again tomorrow.

Hey at least you're seeing good bucks Troy! Our weather has not cooperated at all. I'll be out of town all week next week at the beach. I was going to hunt this afternoon but I may have to work. I'll go in the AM though.

NC hope you get the weather you need bud, I am hunting deep in the bedding areas. Probably the only reason I am seeing some daylight movement. Had a real tough loss yesterday guys, My wifes sister was found dead ...38 years old. Gonna be hit or miss for me hunting for about a week. Try to get as much as I can ..funeral is next Sat.. Take care guys and best of luck for those of you about to start hunting and who are hunting.

Sorry to hear that buddy, hope every goes as best as can be expected, I send my condolences to yall family.

The season comes in here tomorrow, not really set up on any bucks right now, more of a doe management mode, too many of them and I could use some meat.

Got this nice 6 point on camera today, I think he is 3 1/2 and if I feel right and see him this afternoon, I might put an arrow in him.
