    Doe down...

Just wanted to let everyone know I shot a small doe this morning with my xBow around 10.30. I had 5 that I ended up stalking after I missed one out of my ladder stand (used the 40 yard instead of the 30...duh). I will post pics latter.

    Thanks guys,
This is the earliest I have ever deer hunted and the weather couldn't have been better. We had a nice frost last night and the deer were really moving.

I seen a total of 21 deer today. Only 5 of them were within bow range. The rest were within 100 yards. Our normal season doesn't open untill Oct 1st so there won't be a buck entry from me before then. I actually don't think the buck action will pick up around here until the last week in Oct.

    Good luck to everyone.

The North East has been here the whole time little Johnny! haha, and i've got good news. Got a pic of a decent (for vermont) 8 point up at camp, he should be pretty huntable. better yet, just got home from work and went for a walk, found a nasty rub line like I have never seen, 8 small hemlocks in about 20 yards just torn up! I would say he's got G2's in the 8-10" range which means his a Boss for Vermont, and again should be pretty huntable. We have never really hunted behind the house due to little to no deer sign, but with vermont's new "2pt on a side" rule we seem to be seeing a better population and more and more 2.5+ year old bucks!

My bad Tacks. I'm actually a direct descendent of Ethan Allen so I'm read up on how you Green Mountain Boys there in Vermont know how to hunt. Good luck w/ that 8 pt.

Congratulation's Deereguy! Best of luck Drivetacks, sounds promising! No target bucks for me YET this year. I'll be holding out for something In that 130 Inch range. If nothing looks very promising come the rut I'll then focus on hunting 2 different 4.5 year olds that have crappy genetics. I passed both of these bucks up last year numerous times. Got pics of both of them this year. The one 8 point might make 125 Inches. The other 8 point (he was a 7 point the last 2 years) might break the 118 to 120 Inch mark. We'll see what happens I guess.

Pulled the SD card today. I got a nice surprise with the big ten. I have him on camera from last year late in the season. Anyway, he's on my hit list

Season opened yesterday here, I won't start hunting hard till we get closer to the rut. Our property had got a lot of deer on it so I need to shoot some does.
