I was going to reply to your message but just after I made the change my daughter called from Oregon.

I worded your team thread title a little differently to make it easier for ME to find.

No problem, I went back to 2017 contest when the team Dmax and I were on had a similar name and exact avatar, figured why not title the thread the same way as well

Wonder when @Shane0709 is going to wake back up?
At this point I'm hoping he doesn't try the old "Wake N Bake" lol

Never really thought about the negative impacts of winds on acorns like that, makes sense and sucks at the same time.

You only have one mission, and if you should choose to accept it, that mission is to kill. Kill them dead and take two photos.....

Good luck man, we're going to be contenders this year.

only 2 times i hunt orchards. 1) early season for the first week or so if i have a regular buck feeding. 2) during the rut. mid october is just lots of does. and seems like big bucks only come in at night.

Thanks! I got the wind I need to hunt the spot I want. Just hoping no one else is in there today. Got all my clothes out this morning and had to wash them, still smelled from last year! Lol. Shot the bow and it's hitting good. Just have to pack my backpack and ready. Probably be leaving around 2:30. I'm anxious to get out there, but got to remember it doesn't get dark til almost 8 pm.

I got a doe tonight! It stinks that I had zero service, I barely had a 1 Bar to get a text out. Alot of times my text would fail. Buy I'm home now with the deer. Going to clean her up a little and get my 2 pics. I will update with the story a little later.

I'll be out Oct. 2nd, opening weekend success has me chomping at the bit. I can't rule out using the crossbow if things don't feel right, still having quite a bit of soreness/tenderness so will play it by ear.

I've killed on the 2nd day before, was a button buck at 2:30pm due to Uncle being out of town that year. Showed up an hour and a half before sunrise and there was a truck parked in the middle of the drive preventing anyone from accessing the property. Confused, I turned around and went home. Turns out they were out of town and he parks a vehicle blocking the drive from people with ill intentions from entering.

Got back out early afternoon and was swatting gnats and mosquitoes relentlessly whe I looked up and seen a lone deer coming down the trail. Was low 80's at the time and was the worst drag out I have ever had even though it was maybe 65lbs. Uphill about 1/8 mile, Cousin drives up as I'm about to the truck saying she was going to move the truck so I could hunt that evening

    Timing is everything
