That NW region got hit hard by EHD in like 2012 and the herd still hasn't recovered, but I think its getting close to being around normal numbers again. How has the hunting been for you? I stop at my cousins in KC for a night every year to relax and get my mind right before my hunt. How far from KC are you hunting?

Fresh Venison looks tasty bornfromthecorn!! CONGRATS on the doe and way to get the team on the board early!

So, on the board Sep. 2nd, such an awesome feat in itself.

Curious as to how many deer you guys can kill amd when does your season end/do you stop hunting?

I can kill 2 bucks and unlimited does here in IL. Season runs Oct. 1st thru about mid January with 2 breaks during shotgun seasons.

I generally start hunting closer to Halloween and always take 10-11 dsys off first or 2nd week of Nov. For the rut. Usually try to avoid the full moon but it is what it is

I tend to lose motivation after getting meat in the freezer but managed a few late season hunts last year. I've ended my season as early as mid November but have been out there 2nd week of January as well.

I plan on 2 entries this year and will put in every effort to make that happen, be it early season or late season.

Congratulations Skyler. Way to get it done early. Still have over 3 weeks in Ohio before season starts.

My season starts September 11 and ends on January 31. I can bow hunt thru all the guns seasons, so pretty much none stop hunting. Then this year for first time they are doing a primitive 3 day season in February. Can use flintlock or traditional archery. At this point I'm planning on taking the first week of the season of work to hunt. Then usually hunt 2-3 days a week til end of season. My goal is min of 3 deer with a max of 5 to fill up the freezer.

I get 3 buck tags and unlimited doe tags.

ProTech checking in from York, PA. Ended up shooting this buck in rifle season last year. Obviously, wasn't a help to my team, but hopeful to change that this season. Good luck to everyone and congrats on the doe already. Season here starts 10/3. FB_IMG_1599117481232.jpeg

    Hey everyone.
I apologize for the length of time that it took me to check in. I’ll be much more frequent on here now that this thing is going.
I’m really excited to be on a team with and get to know you all.
I’m absolutely exhausted so I will “introduce” my self a bit better with a short post and some pics tmo.
    Sleep tight, y’all

    We're officially checked in.

    Any team name suggestions?

    Captain?

If someone wants to captain speak up, of no one else wants it I'll do it, think I've been captain the previous 9 years I've been in the contest.

Drawing a blank on team name ideas, usually a bit more creative. Only thing I can think of is 5 to 1 being a Doors fan

Trying to utilize ths team number or current events.....

Last picture of my doe, definitely don't mind fresh backstrap.

I would be fine with plead the fifth. I think its funny given the situations that can happen with a hunters wife/girlfriend being pissed about something related to hunting. Personally, I would rather not use current events for a team name simply because I use this site as well as hunting in general to try and get away from that sort of stuff. Also, I'd be fine with you (cls74) being captain! I think you would do a good job.

    cls74 for Captain.
Plead the 5th doesn't really seem hunting related to me. CLS74, do you remember our team name when we came in 2nd place?

This is getting exciting already! I got one week from today, next Friday and I will be in the stand! I always try for a doe on opening day if I don't have a buck that I'm after, which I don't. I started shooting broadheads this past week and they are flying great. This week I'm going to focus on setup in a tree in my backyard and practice some from elevated position.
