I hope to be in the stand by 3:00 tomorrow. Cold day after a good rain. Hope to see some movement. Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Good luck guys! I'm getting all that rain tonight and all day tomorrow. But I have the whole day to hunt on Saturday. I'm done with the does for now and looking for a buck from here on out. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Still trying to get out for the first sit Saturday AM, no guarantees though, have to see how tomorrow goes at work. Going to try like hell to get out of there by lunchtime(11am), have another coworker working as a trainee to work Sat. and Sun. to continue on. If all goes well I should be able to get home by noon and start getting things loaded up. Still have yet to shoot my bow, but not afraid to use the crossbow for a doe either. We'll see. Good luck to all getting out, temps here are going to get the leaves falling big time.
Good Luck this weekend guys! The new moon and lower temps should have the deer on their feet in daylight.
In the tree for the evening. 2nd sit of the season. 50° light breeze out of the west. Leaves falling, chipmunks everywhere! Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Had a doe come through back side of me around 5 at 35 yards. Had a young 8 pt come through at 5:40. Circled all the way around me and walked off. Had another doe come in by herself around 6:20. Arrow sent at 28 yards. Pretty sure I skimmed her right behind the leg. She busted me when I drew back. Looked right at me and started stomping. I aimed low thinking she would drop right into the shot. I think she picked her leg up when I shot. Arrow hit a rock behind her and snapped in half. Never found fletching end. Little bit of hair and tissue on the blade. No blood. I am going out tomorrow morning to look to see if I can find blood and walk the direction she went. I heard her get to top of the hill and she was blowing. Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

That's rough. It's so hard to judge a deer when they are alert. I've messed up quite a few shots on alert deer. Keep at it. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Spent a couple hours walking property just to make sure the shot i took didn't put her down. Nothing. Hopefully she will recover. Found a bunch of fresh sign about 50-60 yards from my stand. Not sure if I want to move closer to that spot or not. Probably wait a week or 2 before I go back to that stand. Supposed to be back up in the 70's this week. What do you think? If it was me, I'm always moving. But trust your gut on what to do Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Been out a few sits, just does and a button buck. Cams been pretty dead here, it should start getting good soon. I leave for Missouri 2 weeks from Thursday, can't wait boys!! Holt you say you're always moving, do you rock a mobile set and sticks then? How often do you move? How often do you hunt the same stand?
I use 3 sticks and platform. Yes I take my setup with me on ever hunt and take down. It keeps me from hunting presets to much. I do hunt the same tree on occasion, but for the most part I'm always micro tuning my setups and pick new trees when hunting in same area. I like to hunt many spot a season to keep the deer on there toes, and always moving. Yes it can hurt me some times but for the most part I've seen more bigger bucks with this method over the years. Soccer is done. We were undefeated. Now time to get serious. I've got several bucks in the 160 class showing up on my cams now. Just need a little luck.
i had a bear scare off a p&y buck that was heading right towards my blind. frustrating but at least i didn't have to make the decision weather to shoot him or not. i will be getting a bear tag tomorrow though.
I don't think you will be able to buy a bear tag. I'm pretty sure you have to get them early. I may be wrong.
