For those wondering, pay no attention. Had a few quackers/clackers from the previous season winning team feel confident enough to yuck it up. I, against only that member, called them out for a wager on Team 5 against Team 13 any day of the week. Nobody else here is subject to the bet, don't be goaded into it.
going to be 53 for a high on saturday. this should get the deer up and feeding. i had 2 spikes harassing a doe in my yard yesterday. i have a gut feeling the rut might happen earlier this year. all of the gardens were done earlier than normal, leaves are already just about full bloom, heck farmers are already combining corn. everything is about 2 weeks early.
we stick together thats why i brought up to my teammates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if your going to rely on your teammates shouldn't they be involved also so whats the wager going to be????????????
The weekend is here! Hopefully by tomorrow all you guys seasons will be open. The weather is absolutely amazing here. I hope to be out Saturday, but I might be taking my daughter on her first ever deer hunt with me. She is only 7, so she just wants to sit with me and see what deer hunting is like. The problem is I have no idea were to take her were it's not a long hike and I will see deer. I want her to enjoy it, but if I take her were I normally go, she will probably hate it. I shot at my 3rd doe last night and just grazed her. I had my nock brake when I shot and it shot about 6 inches left at 10 yards. She was fine and went back to eating shortly after shot, just scared her alittle, didn't know what all the noise was. The thing is I just checked all my arrows 2 hunts before, so something happen to the nock between then and now. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Whats up Team?!?! I'm still alive.. Busy as heck with coaching football and work. I was able to get out last night with my 8yo son Maddox and I stuck a nice doe. I thought the shot was good, but I think she was quartering towards me more than I first thought. It was also 18ish yards and with that downward angle I'm thinking I hit guts on way out and it plugged exit hole. Very cold last night in MI with temps in the 30s and barely hitting 50 today, I decided to back out.
Awesome man! Looks like a great time! Good luck on the track, keep us posted on what you find Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
good luck on the recovery sparrow. i got home from the football game late last night so i elected to skip hunting this morning to get things prepped for this afternoon. i'll check in when i get to the stand.
Good luck Terry! What's on the menu for you tonight? You shooting doe or buck? Still no update from sparrow, hopefully he's busy taking care of the doe. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Well had plans to hunt tonight and tomorrow night. Not going to happen. My mom had back surgery Tuesday and I visited her every night after work. Released her Friday and took her home. She wasn't quite right mentally I think, (from the meds I'm hoping) because she started ripping into me saying I was trying to get with the nurses and brain wash her and they took her phone and was texting myself and brother to be in on it. She kept talking about the pictures and words they put on her arms and how they changed the color of bulbs in her room and it goes on. Anyway my brother and I are taking turns staying with her until all the meds they gave her are out of her system and she gets back to normal. Hopefully just a couple days and she will be fine. Good luck to all who are out. Sent from my SM-G965U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Chalk up another 50 pts on the board for the good guys!!! My assumption was correct, I smoked her and she was quartering harder than I realized. The arrow went out the guts on exit. First sit of the season and already have meat in the freezer, feels good!! Went out tonight and took my oldest boy. My buddy bought one of those new millinium box blinds, that thing is sweet!! One problem though, it was full of big wasps! We got the heck out of there and settled in on the ground on a cut bean field. Saw 10 doe, my season is off to a great start.
Awesome man! Points on the board! Congrats and it's great you got to share it with the family. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Rjhart, I hope your mom has a speedy recovery brother! Anesthesia and the combo of meds they give can make people do some strange things. I had a similar thing happen to me in my early 20s when I was put under for a wrist surgery. Guess I was dropping F bombs and acting aggressive when I woke up, I don't remember any of it.
That is strange. Maybe check her pain medication. My dad went thru a thing after he had knee surgery. You would be sitting there talking to him, then he would start talking to somebody else. There was no one else in the room. This went on for days. Got him off the pain meds, and he was back to normal that day. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
After surgery the hospital was still giving her the regular meds on top of the pain meds. I was in Columbus most of the day for cross country meet and visited wife's sister. Brother said she was much better tonight. Might get a couple hours in a tree after all tomorrow evening. Nice job recovering your doe sparrowhawk. Nice to share with family.
