Will be heading up to Kentucky September 18 for some early season archery hopefully can connect with a doe! I have been trying to incorporate the number 5 into a team name but can’t think of anything! So I’m good with what we decide!

Little DIY project I did today. I needed a target I could throw in my truck. I saw this video on you tube. Super easy!!!! It only took 20 minutes to make and I didn’t buy anything. I haven’t shot into it yet but it’s made from the same materials as my giant target so should easily stop arrows and remove easily.

    Target looks great Happy!

I got both my bows dialed in today. The compound was dead on same as last year. I started shooting a long bow for the last few years and looking forward to hunting with it more. I have yet to take a deer with it. The only thing with it I only have a 15-20 yard max range, so it's going to be up close and personal!

I thought of going to a traditional bow also. If I carried it all the time I feel like I would get that close up shot at some point in the season. Haven’t got there yet though. Dialed in also with halon. Going to Lancaster archery 3D shoot in morning with my brother so getting more practice. Shot a lot this weekend. Fired about 30 shots yesterday. Maybe 60 today.

Nice! I shoot the Halon also. I got a free recurve bow about 3 years ago. I loved it! I felt like a kid again and made it fun to just go out and shoot again for me. I picked up a used longbow off ebay about 2 years ago and have been practicing non stop with it. I feel this is the year I will knock down a couple deer with it. Confidence has been really high and I finally feeling really comfortable shooting it. Good luck tomorrow on the shoot, should be alot of fun!

Is there a deadline for us coming up with a team name? I see a lot of other teams are on it already.
    So far suggestions are
    Antler addicts
    Backstrap boys
    Silent killers
    Team 5
    Cinco de arrow
    Crimson trail
    High five
Don’t think I missed any suggestions that were given
Personally I like crimson trail or High five

We should vote as team on team name and a Captain. So if anyone is interested in captain, please say so.

Sorry I haven't been on much guys, spent the last week bear hunting a couple nights, and trying to wrap up the farmers porch I'm building on our house before hunting season fully hits and snow flies!!

Well 3D shoot was good except for the rainstorm that came through when we were about half way through the course. We hustled back to the pavilion and waited about 45 minutes and went and finished the course. I did discover one thing that I need to get some work on and that is pin clarity. In the low light of the woods where course is I was finding it really difficult to get a crisp sight pin. I have been going back and fourth with wearing glasses when shooting but it makes it very difficult. If I wear my glasses sight pin is good but target is blurry. I’ve heard of people using clarifier lens on sight ring. Any experience out there with this issue. Shooting at my house it is usually bright enough I can work with it.

Absolutely. I will be up there every chance I get. Still got some spots up that way with bucks that need to die... I was planning on opening day, but I have to work.

Not yet, had a sow and two cubs come in Friday evening. Another bear was near by and she wasn't very happy about it, but the other bear never came in.. I did catch glimpses of it through the thick brush but not sure how big it was.. This year has been a slow year, there is so much natural feed out right now that a lot of the activity is coming after dark.

I like Cinco de Arrow as the team name. As for the captain, I can take over those duties since I run the contest. As for my upcoming season, I'll be starting in Wisconsin mid-September trying to get my fiance an early season deer. Then I'll be hitting a few different spots throughout the season. My #1 buck has yet to show up this year, which has me a little worried. He'll be a 5 year old this year, but when he was 3, he hung out around my property all summer and into the season a little bit, then last year he didn't show up until late August. Now I just hope he is still alive. Here's what he looked like last year as a 4 year old. MTC_0323.JPG MTC_0321.JPG LIFT0077.JPG

Heck of a deer. I honestly don't know what will be on my property. Only have 2 cams out and haven't had any buck activity on them at all. I have seen a few good ones though, so hoping a few of them stick around. Just ordered 5 new cameras, hoping to get them by this weekend so I can get them out and get a better idea of what's happening.
