I found a bullet hole in the hide of one of them. The other was too far gone to tell, but I suspect the same thing.
It was tough to see yesterday afternoon with super bright sun. I managed to pick up 3 after work. Ive got 3 spots left that I haven’t hit yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Boone you need to post a shed hunt or two to youtube. Sent from my SM-N920P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Funny you should say that...I am actually working with a couple other guys on a project that we hope to bring to YouTube this summer.
Good deal watched your bowfishing videos last night. That looks like a ton of fun Sent from my SM-N920P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Picked up 11 Friday afternoon after work. Didn’t walk everything I wanted to. Got dark on me. But it was the best 2 hours I’ve ever had Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I went out scouting yesterday for 2 miles in a foot and a half of snow. Notice I said scouting and not shed hunting. It's because I didn't any sheds.
Picked up 2 more today. My last walk on my home farm. My season is starting to wind down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was hoping to put a lot more on the board this year, I had a situation at work , the lead foreman gave his 2 week notice and I was promoted to his spot. Its great for me and my family but not for my shed numbers. This will open up other avenues im hoping that will be great once the smoke clears Sent from my SM-N920P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'm pretty sure you have me beat for numbers, and I'm sure Boone has more than everyone in the competition combined.
I have an idea, Boone. Next Thursday why don't you plant some of your sheds on the public land I'm going to scout so I can find a few and feel good about myself.
Well if I'm being truthful...the 11 I found last Friday after work were all on public land...they are still out there...most are getting chewed up though. And I would say the good shed hunting on public at this point is going to be in spots that are nasty and hard to access...most of the easy stuff has been picked over. I had to cross 2 big creeks and several steep ridges before I got into antlers.
I'm going to be scouting where it's hard to get to. That's where I'm guessing I'll be finding the deer sign. Sheds will certainly be a plus but the overall goal is to give me information to put me in a good position to put down a good buck when I get to hunt in Iowa.
Had my most productive walk of the year and it was during my 30 min. Lunch break. Im shocked no one picked these us the were 20 or less yards from a very heavily used walking/ bike path. Sent from my SM-N920P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
