Just got my first 2 trail cams delivered yesterday, gonna get them up this weekend (probably on Sunday). Kind of a late start, but this summer was crazy busy and had to prioritize. Sconny season starts Sept. 13th. Can't wait...

Very nice. What kind of cameras did you get?

Stealth Cam 30G. We have about 65 acres in Wisconsin that the family shares. Saw some activity on cams by stands other than mine. Plenty of does, couple of smaller bucks. Nothing big yet, but I know there are some nice ones out there. Fired up to get two more cameras up. Now I gotta pick up SD cards, and figure out a way to read the pics on my Ipad. Any recommendations on what size cards to get or if I can view these on my Ipad? Or any other simple ways to view card pics outside of firing up my old laptop?

I'd go min +16 gb cards. I use my iPad to check cards via an attachment you can purchase at best buy or apple stores just for transferring SD card media to your iPad. Pop the SD card in and it starts the transfer for you. But it won't work on your iPhone.

Very cool, thanks slonger. How do you feel the Ipad transferring goes? Work ok, or is it a PITA? I know I have to pick up that SD card adapter. Wondering if it would be feasible / workable to transfer photos from a card to my Ipad on those mornings I get to the stand a couple of hours before daylight? Might be a fun way to pass the time...

Super easy and fairly fast. I'd have no issue with transferring photos before hunting except I don't like to carry my iPad while hunting. Transfer time is dependent upon how many pictures you have waiting. 100 pics can take < 1 min. But I don't use high resolutions pics. Try it a few times first so you get a sense of timing. But the attachment is well worth the cost around 15 to $20 I think.

Good deal, thanks for being so helpful. One more question- do guys buy 2 cards for each camera? This would allow just swapping out the cards quickly in the field, then I could take my time jacking around with the transfer. Would be nice not to pony up for 2 extra cards, but if I have to...

I don't have any cameras, but I would do two cards per, then I can get in, change cards and get out and not worry about missing anything.

I use 2 per camera so I can swap them quickly and then just check them on the laptop when I get home.

I didn't get out this morning. I had a VA appointment and then started remodeling the downstairs basement. It wasn't going to be a remodel, just remove the shower and fix a leaking pipe. It's turned into a remodel.

Checked a couple cameras today and lots of does but not much buck activity. Also finished plowing the food plots and should get them planted when I come home from school next weekend.

I never have much buck activity on my cameras early in the season but I have a ton of does. I'd much rather have it that way because when the rut hits bucks come from all over the place to check em out.

I was talking to Marshall and the guy who is hunting the ranch this year said if we have does in an area now, bucks will be there for our season. All the rifle hunters push them right to where we are.

Went out and worked on my range. I have from 5 to 90 yards marked out. Here's what my markers will look like[IMG]
And here's looking at the target from 50[IMG]

It was like that for me last year. All of the bucks showed up around the end of October and stayed through November.

Good morning Team 5!! Anyone have any plans today? I might work on putting my markers in the ground, removing the shower frame for my remodel, and taking the family out to a nice dinner that I received as a gift for rebuilding my HOA's website earlier this year.

I sent another PM to muzzyman88, since he has been on recently. sevi hasn't been on since the beginning of the month. Hopefully they get checked in so we don't need any replacements.
