I'm slowly getting moving. Coffee is ready and Marshall will be here in 20.

I'm in the tripod/blind this morning. Nice frost on the ground hoping to get it done.

****, I had 2 does come in from behind me (not expecting from there)the they were making their way into my shooting land and there is a blind spot in this tripod so that's when I went to stand and draw. As I was doing that the tripod made a noise and they split. They worked back on the edge of the timber just out of range but they were on alert. They calmed down once into he timber but I could've had a doe if I was moving slower.

I got to hunt yesterday morning. Saw 3 bucks but not the one I'm targeting. Have about 8 does working the same area so might connect during rut. Will hopefully take a doe from another area next time I get to hunt. Good luck all.

Still hiking around. Found some sign maybe a couple hours old along with a load of tracks. Then just lost them.

Back at the house. As soon as I posted my last post, we sat and watched 5 does across the draw. It was pretty awesome.

Back at it. On a field edge tonight. Hopefully they funnel through.

    Route.jpg

Here is the route we took. We crossed through the draw we were in as we worked our way up. I missed marking one glassing spot on the way up. We only passed two other vehicles while we were out, which was a surprise considering where we were.

    Here is my scouting summary:
    1. We need to look into Forest Service rules. The map I posted yesterday had a gate with a sign saying "Private Access w/ Fee". All the maps we looked on had the road marked as a FS road.
    2. The deer are still high. Marshall said they were about where they were this time last year.
    3. Having the 13th off will be a benefit. It gives us an extra day to move if needed. We are still hoping to hunt our original spot, but have an excellent area if we aren't.

I have pictures on my phone and will post in a little bit.

That looks like a interesting and difficult place to hunt. Sound like you guys have a solid plan though.

Deer stayed in the corn until last light. Had some coons climbing my tree and e one about 4 foot to my right. So that was pretty interesting. Lol I'll be back out tomorrow morning. I also checked a card on the the way out and had a bunch of does and one nice buck I would shoot if I saw him. He was on his feet at 8 am on the 6th. Hoping he is making another stop through soon

It was a decent hike in. But we found a four wheeler trail will take us up most of the way. Beautiful country this time of the year. This was the same area that we hunted last year.

Hopefully 3rd times a charm. I'm back at it one last time here until I head back to school.
