You have to admit, it is funny that you're in Iowa and we are an Iowa cull buck out of the lead. I get it and I'm not trying to talk you into anything. But it is kind of a crazy scenario. Hope you get a monster regardless of the contest status of course.
So it dawned on me yesterday that the buck I killed is the biggest NC bow buck I've ever killed. Ha! 12 years has passed since I killed an antlered deer here.
Congrats on the buck and happy new year guys. I’ve had fun sharing this season with our team. Season is closed now in MN. Good luck to those of you who can maybe still push us into the lead. So close. I hope you all have a great year.
Congrats Ridge. I went out yesterday afternoon. I didn't see anything. I think we are gonna be heading to the family farm one last time before season is up here. I'm still grinding.
In the evenings I’m sitting corn or standing beans depending on the wind trying to kill a buck. I’m hunting with my muzzleloader in the evenings because a giant could walk out way past 40 yards at any time.
Tonight is probably it for me. The weather and wind direction is the worst I’ve seen down here. I’m usually done by day 5 and I’m already on day 12.
Congrats on the buck ridge! Unfortunately I'm out of season here. We had another death in the family so I wasn't able to get out last weekend. But the good thing is I get to start my land project and start clearing out some of the deadfall trees and take out alot of the smaller trees that are choking up alot of the sun light. Also going to try to keep a food plot going for the off-season. So down time is going to be a commodity this year. Also time to start gearing up for surf fishing in the spring.
As a "team", I will admit I'm quite disappointed in the (assumed) lack of effort to at least get a doe down. Probably be be my last year being on a team. We had it guys!
It is hard to believe that we got more bucks than doe lol that being said this is the highest scoring team I’ve had In the last three years and I’d say for the most part everyone put in effort. It’s always fun every year..was a pretty good team and a fun race I think. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Everyone is going to give a different level of effort. I fet the frustration, but its part of this contest every year. Some folks just want a big buck and then they're done. Thats fine. I remember a few years back, I tried to the last day of season to kill a damn doe only to miss one 2 days before close due to my arrow falling off the rest at the shot. I didn't have a captive rest and stupid things happen to me. Anyway, was a good run and this is as close to first I've ever been. Team 8 made a hell of a run this year, so congrats to them, presumably.
Well boys it does look like the end of the road. It was a great season and we stayed in the mix the entire time. It's not my way to complain about a top 3 performance. I think we killed it. I can only hope that we all had fun and learned something(anything) from each other's season. I can personally say that I learned about dedication from Ridge. It was my honor being teammates with you all. Don't be strangers. Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
Caught myself today thinking about going to Missouri for more time on the stand. I still want to hunt.
10 days left and only 120 pts from a free hat. If any of you are trying to wait until the last minute for a surprise it's time Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
