I got nothing impressive on the buck category. Sorry, but you guys are stuck with a work in progress season for me. I'm confident on the doe front, but I may end up with a 100-120 category buck this year in NC. I don't really care, but the days of my midwest opportunities are limited. If I get a shot in MO, it will be a total surprise.

That's fine RR, we can only shoot what our areas produce.

My area is unknown. I've seen some very big bucks out there. Plenty of doe. I did not put up cameras last year. I did get them out this year, though. The farm is 3 hours south of me and they are not cell cameras. The guy at Scheels asked how I will check my cameras if they are not cell cameras. I looked at him weird and said they way we always did it before cell cameras came out... manually.

Outside my office window this morning. Little puppy about 8 feet. Hope I get another one this year.

I hate Illinois with a passion but seeing gators and videos of bears,or mountain lions makes me happy we don’t have any.

This is one of my stand set ups this year. Wondering if the lack of background might be an issue... upload_2022-8-30_11-52-50.png upload_2022-8-30_11-53-42.png

It might be when the leaves drop...idk tho. I've sat in much worse and gotten away with it. Is is low or does it just look low in the pic?

It’s probably about 18 ft. I cut my sticks (X4) down to 17” for portability. This lone wolf is my set up is my public land runner. I

I was thinking of maybe taking some cut branches and ratchet strapping them in

Looks like alot of "clutter" .
but as long as it's been there awhile and the deer get used to it.
I've killed truckloads of deer sitting only 8_10 feet up..

I shot 3 deer from this stand late season last winter it's only 12'

Personally I'm throwing darts but I do have a ladder stand left to put up, but I'm dragging my feet because three other members on here will be sitting it and might score from it

I'll figure something out to create a background.

I've got about 16_18 ladder stands put out on different properties.
All lanes trimmed waiting for an arrow flash.
Just keep in mind team, unless I want to kill a doe early, I usually don't start hunting till late Oct.
Then it's "balls to the walls"

I have a couple of minor things, like clearing a lane or 2, but I'm pretty much ready. I still need to grab my tags for NC, but I can do that soon enough.

Dang, reached in my cooler to get a can of pop.
Was a beer instead. Didn't realize it till I took a sip.
Taste damn good on this warm day but must refrain.
Beers are like Lay's Potato Chips to me.
I don't want just one. Lol

I've been laying off the beers for a while now and now I really want one.
