When we were tossing this team name around, I almost suggested 5 Finger Buck Punch, but I just ran out of steam. Now is the time of the year where we need some buck punching. I have been completely distracted all day by my upcoming trip and have been totally consumed with the thoughts of hunting.

    Grandma, I think I got a fever!

I am going away this weekend but as soon as I get back I have a few weeks off to get a buck down.

The buck I really want should start making some daylight movement soon.
There are several new 2_3 year olds that have just showed up and feeling their oats.
He'll start displaying his dominants real soon.
I've learned over the years to "just wait" when there's one bigger/older buck around.
I'm SOO chomping at the bit to get in a stand I set up this spring.
It's tight to a steep riverbank he travels.
Damn near got (wood) wanting to go to it but it's not time yet.
There are just too many deer there that use that trail and I can't afford to educate a single one.
It's just to good of a spot.
10 days from now,, it's go time.
Scent regiments will be to the max.

My ride to basketball practice this morning made me want to drive right by the school and keep going to my stand

Wife's SUV started some powertrain issues yesterday. Dealership can't get to it until next week. I was supposed to be able to hunt tomorrow morning and night, but now I will have to watch my son while she works instead. This season just isn't working out for me in the slightest.

    I prefer wind over calm.
    Good luck.

Pretty sure this is the 10 I've been looking for. He went MIA August 28th.

I walked a new area today. It’s a large reclaim of young timber and thick crp. Saw a zillion doe. Not the first sign of a buck. No rubs scrapes nothing. Figure I might head over there mid November or so and maybe see if a big one has one over there away from the other bucks in the woods. Not seeing the bucks or the sign I usually do this time of year. Back to the drawing board this weekend

So boys, I'm driving over 500 miles today to work at a branch for 10 mins. But by doing so I should be able to hunt tomorrow! Didn't think I was getting out until mid next week. Just need to read the data tonight and pick a stand.

Got out this morning. Saw 4 large turkeys. Minimal deer sign. Wife’s evening client cancelled. Looks like I’ll get to hunt tonight. Gonna go hit up the handicap only area and sit the ground. Maybe get a good observation in at the least.

Anyone hitting horns together yet? Not sure about it just yet. I simulated a tree rub and scrape this morning.

Rattling should be good now. Barring there at least 2 older bucks around.

It’s the youth hunt this weekend in MN so took my son out tonight. Hoping to get him his first deer in the next 3 days. 8D041A69-B8F8-49EE-B345-4920BA972567.jpeg

Just got an email from a permission request recipient. Granted! 71 Acres. Timber, Creek, and Field. I am over the moon!
