Well I'm out of the stand. The little buck rolled through while I was on stand. But got surprised seeing the coyotes rolling through. They'll get an arrow one of these days if they show up.[IMG][IMG]

Wife was sick so stayed home this morning. So happy I found that community scrape last season, it’s busy everyday.

Coyote or not I would have been dying inside hearing a dog-like whimper. I’m soft on dogs. It would have killed me inside.

This one was mine from 2014 kill. Took two years to get it back from the taxidermist. Two weeks after getting it we lost it in a house fire.

Well had a Shooter at 40 this morning. If I coulda got set up 5 minutes sooner he’d be on the ground. Got off work at 7. Ran home grabbed our bows, Ashley’s stand/sticks, and my gear. Made it out to the forest by 8. Had her in a tree and setup by 840. Set her up on a super fresh scrape and a horizontal rub. I just went down the ridge some to where I’ve seen deer in the past. Thinking maybe it some got down wind of me they’d go to her vise versa. I one sticked up my tree. Got everything set around 9. Started pulling my bow up. It was maybe 3 feet off the ground when I hear a blow at 40. Whip my head to look and an absolute stud is prancing off into the clearcut. I’m still not 100% sure if he was bedded there the entire time I was climbing but then my bow lifting somehow spooked him or if he was coming to his bed but when I got down I found his bed between me and where i saw him running. Full of hair and was a perfect spot for him especially in the crosswind I was hunting. Id say I’m gonna sneak in here super early one morning and hit it one more time before rut and he starts exploring. Image1665339396.520945.jpg

    Hey team.
Trying to stay off the "puter" untill I can get to a Verizon store and get my plan updated.
My bill last month was right at 200.00$:bigcry:

Tom, I washed every bit of gear I 3aer including socks about 3 weeks ago.
    Hats/gloves/socks ect.
They have all been hanging on nails under the overhang of my garage.
    I'm paranoid about scent control!
No bears killed yet. Will try in the a.m.

Really cool mount and that is just a terrible way to lose it. How much more damage was done?

It was bad. Occurred at 3 AM. The paper lady pounded on the door and the dog woke us up Otherwise who knows? We were displaced and lost almost everything. It was a rental house and luckily I had a $20K renters insurance policy. Not even close to enough to replace what we lost.

This was Dec 2017. It took time but we became reestablished over time. Wife still has a hard time with the trauma.

Glad that yall were unhurt. Jeez. At the end of the day it's just stuff. Sucks when that stuff is irreplaceable, but glad you and the family were safe.

Went out this morning to sit that community scrape. Before light 5 does came screaming by then two small bucks sparring. At light came 5 does came down the other side and the bucks came into the wheel house but thermals weren’t pulling up quite yet and they blew at me then fat lead doe decided she should come over and join. Finally they eased off and one of the does following came into view, came to full draw then yearling stepped in the way and off they went.[IMG]

Yep. Got the wife, dog, and cat out. The rest was just stuff. Hard times, but if you aren't used to those by now you're living within the top 10%.

Well I’m out at the spot I lost last year. Went to go sit my favorite early season stand I guess I forgot I took my bow hanger out and didn’t have any hooks with me. So plan B I’m hunting over the beans doing a little ground and pound let’s see if I can be sneaky enough to shoot a doe

Lol, yessir that would help for sure. I remember a couple years back, early season was brutal for me. Just couldn't get on the deer at all.
