I'm really looking forward to that first fall cold front to be in the forecast. 10 day outlook here is still in the 80's for highs....

Got a decent buck on camera finally...he's probably 2 and I won't be shooting him. I don't have a single mature buck to chase yet.

Gonna go watch some bear trials this evening.
    Not gonna shoot, just scout.

Have fun. What all do bear trials involve? I'm clueless on all things bear hunting.

I'm blessed with having 3 miles of remote river to hunt.
No one else can go back there.
One side of the river is a HUGE area that can't be hunted and it's just a swamp
The side I hunt is mostly ag fields.
The bear cross the river from bedding to feeding.
    I just interceptt them.

It's been years since I killed one with a gun and may try that this year for a change up.

Trails!! Ah. I read that as trials and thought it was some kind of thing in the bear hunting realm. I'm an idiot.

I try to be a good ambassador for bear hunting.
One thing I like to do is make a big bear roast and take it to a local bar on a busy night, (darts, pool, bingo, ect.
    Let everyone sample it.
I can honestly say, NOT ONE person has said anything negative.
A strong 95% say its very good, incredible, terrific, ect.
With bear hunting under attack from so many pussie groups, anything helps.
I just made my last roast from last year on Fri night.
Brought a few #'s to a local bar.
There were only about 12 people there and it was gone real quick.

I remember when ours was up til spring due to constant flooding in September and October. Eventually, everything froze and farmers couldn't get in til March/April. Didn't see a lot of deer that year.

I've always had little to no interest in bear hunting because my brother killed one and said it was the worst game he ever ate.... Now I wanna see for myself

    No bear this evening.
Oh well, couple cold beers n no skeeters made it enjoyable.
Just kinda cool knowing I have a place to go knowing damn well there ain't a human within 3 miles of me.

This cooler weather has got me a bit more frisky.

One reason I don’t run cameras at all lol I like the element of surprise. When I used cameras If I didn’t have pictures of bucks I wasn’t excited to hunt. Killed my biggest buck that year. Never seen him before lol it was late season too!

Fix, bear HAVE TO be taken care of immediately.
One thing that'll really f÷@k that up is people hot_rodding a dead bear around in the back of a truck for hours showing it off.
And FORGET about trying to salvage the meat if shot in the eve and find it in the morning
    !

Shoot, kill, get it gutted asap is super critical.

Bear is probably like venison. If you know how to cook it it’s delicious. That goes without saying for any wild game. Fish included. I can’t count how many people I’ve heard say “I don’t like deer meat.” Then I make them a steak or even tacos from burger and they’re amazed it’s venison
