Well i had a good 8pt duck my arrow tonight, which im glad because of it would have hit him it would have been back in the guts. He came into my doe decoy looking to have some fun but unfortunately I didn't execute.

On day 6 in Kansas. Have seen tons of bucks, mostly young. Had a nice one chasing a doe this morning that I probably should have tried to stop to get a shot. Still have 4 days after this afternoon sit. This is the one from this morning. I am about 30 yard behind him in this picture.

Well my trip has come to an end and I did not tag a buck. I hunted hard, all day sits the last few days and saw tons of deer. Just not a lot of mature deer. The last day at 12:30 in the afternoon I did a blind rattle. Five minutes later the best buck I had seen the whole trip was behind me. I just didn’t have a shot. Unfortunately the wind was going behind me and he picked up my scent and left. Disappointed to leave empty handed but I had a good time and look forward to my next trip to Kansas. I still have a couple weeks of hunting in Maine, but it is not the same. Plus after being gone for 2 weeks I will need to spend time at the house, but I will get out a few times.

Saw your updates. Was really hopeful you would have got one. Still sounds like a great trip

I held to my standards for too long. With a few days left I had shots on 3 year old 8 points and kept holding out. No regrets though

Not sure, but I’ll let you know.
I’m ready to be home and back in the woods. A guy can only take so much sun, sand and free booze!
Starting to get worried, I’m seeing a couple bucks with only one antler. Have they started dropping already?

I haven't seen any shed other then broken ones. But its not out of question. Seen bucks shed around Christmas before.

Last Saturday morning my wife got the flu…bad
Later that evening she stood up & passed out striking her head on the tile floor
Unable to wake her up I called 911 & the local volunteer rescue took her in
Four days in the hospital & two skull fractures later I get her back
    She’s still foggy
She requires 24 hour care (yes dear)
She has no memory of the entire night
She can’t walk without assistance & I could go on & on but in a nut shell unless God answers our prayers my hunting season is over
I have an Iowa tag (once every five years draw) & two Nebraska doe tags in the backpack & I do believe I’m having tag soup
I apologize to the entire team as my 50 points was not what I intended to have as a total score..
If I’m get the chance to hunt I’ll update but I had to rush out yesterday just to get a haircut from a neighbor

Take care of the wife. That is most important. Plenty of time in life to hunt. I hope all gets better soon.

Your wife is infinitely more important than any bowhunting contest.
Prayers go out for her and you.

    Went out as promised
    Saw 11 doe
I missed…went under her as I believe I lowered my arm vs bend at the waist.
    She was at 17 yards
The ground is saturated so I heard nothing as they began to walk by…
Silly me got rushed & blew the shot

At least you’re seeing some. Went to a new spot tonight, nothing. Got home and checked my phone, deer on the location I decided not to hunt!
