My moultrie camera quit working. I received my two new ones in the mail and got them activated. I plan on getting them out tonight. Hopefully the big boys will get in front of them.

Well last night was a phenomenal sit. No shots but saw two 10 pointers, one was probably around 110 the other about a 125-130. No shots though. I learned something from that sit with rhe smaller 10pt, as he came into the public field when the wind died down and must have caught my thermals as there is a slight change in elevation; he went and bedded in a ditch but I could see his head and he was laying there staring my way until it was dark, never watched him get up and he likely saw me get down. The big 8 didn't show, im guessing he is wise to my ways right now because I haven't seen him since that first time.

Im going to give that piece a break and stick around home for a while since its just a quick walk to the backyard. Going to go across the creek tonight and bring a decoy and try some light rattling, a bit aggressive I know but when I've seen bucks together they usually do a bit of sparring.

Of course. They haven't been moving much but there is still some standing corn next to the house. I think that will change within the next couple of weeks. I am praying for rain today as my food plots need it bad.

This is my number 1 hit lister this year. I call him the big 9. I saw him a few times this summer in velvet. This will be the third year I have been hunting him. Last year he got lucky as I tagged out early and didn't get to pursue him. Big 9.jpg

Not sure, but I’ll let you know.

    Figured I’d better start participating.

Well good sign. The cold front has them on their feet. While not a shooter it is a positive that I get a pic 1 day after putting the camera out. Food plot pic 1.jpg

I went tonight to get the buck i shot last year, officially scored. I was surprised. Im usually pretty close on score with them. He ended up being a inch bigger then i scored (132 and change) and didn't think he was even close to P&Y minimum of 125 net. But he came in at 125 0/8, so just made it. This makes my 5th P&Y class buck. 20241016_123250.jpg

The younger bucks are starting to get on their feet. Still a little before daylight but I think I will see more movement as soon as this corn is out.

Thanks. I made a bunch of them in all different woods, styles, different color stains and painted one. Wanted to see what i liked. I gave a couple away to friends. And still have a few of them. This one probably gets the most compliments. Its just red oak with a medium stain. Simple but compliments the skull well.

The farmers got one out two corn fields out and as I suspected I am starting to see more movement. This guy will get a pass this year, but it is good to see them moving through. I am going to try to get out tonight and I will be out this weekend. I plan on shooting the first doe that gives me a good shot. Trail Camera.jpg
