Do any of you that use a different broad head for turkey, Do you have to use different arrows for length? If so what is the difference between your regular length and turkey length.

Opening day in Nebraska! I don't plan on going out until this weekend though.

I'm using the same 31" Phat Head tipped arrows that I use for deer.

    New team name is BirdIsTheWord

I am going to send Dubbya a PM about getting an alternate to fill IN DA WOODS spot. Pending that request, we are official. Zink If you can edit thread heading to our team, I assume you can being the post creator. If not I'll get it figured out.

So officially welcome to Team 4 BirdIsTheWord, lets get down to business and thwack some chickens.

No worries, I have no clue how to do it either. I added that note when I PM'd Dubbya. (In response to changing our thread title)

I did some shooting yesterday evening, shot like crap for a while, finally started to put arrows together. I thought I could hold off the anticipation but I am overly excited to get this season open.

I hit the turkey woods for the first time this morning. Had a gobbler called into shooting range and missed.

    I didn't miss by much but a miss is a miss. :(

Oh well. The season is still young. I'll be out again Tuesday morning. :)

Had a few gobblin around my house today. Its getting close.

Ill be taking my boy for youth season in Kentucky this Saturday. He is going to be using a x-bow. He still cant get enough pounds outta his compound but hes getting there.

Im hoping to get it on film.

Good luck! I had them answering my call this morning but they headed off in the opposite direction instead of coming my way.

Thanks. Hopefully ill have some pics I can post on here.

That sucks. I have heard that if you can get a bird fired up after around 930 or 10 then that is a killable bird. When they are gobbling in the morning your hoping they think your hen is sexier than the other ones. lol Ive seen this on a couple of occasions but im not ready to call it a fact yet.

I've got a cold front coming through tonight. Thunderstorm is expected tonight and high Temps are going to drop by 15-20 ° for the rest of the week. Will this have any effect of the turkey's patterns?
