Have to wonder how many times that happens and the turkey isn't found.

For sure some great deer states represented on this team. I'm excited for season to get here. Just finished a round of practice. Was getting 2.5-3 inch groups at 40 yards. Soon as I get one of my kids to teach their technology challenged dad to post pics I'll get some trail cam photos up.

Seem like no one has chimed in on this, but it's a great idea. I've only ever shot two bucks, the first of which was a 150" with a shotgun. That said, my most memorable hunting memory would probably have to be last fall. I was hunting a funnel area where the deer were pushed between two pastures and funneled into the woods where my dad and I hung a stand at the end of October. About ten minutes before light, the woods just came alive. There was crashing and grunting all around me and I could make out shapes moving below my stand. When they started to head away I hit my grunt tube and stopped the one buck. I then proceeded to have a 20 minute staredown with that buck. I'm convinced that if I would have had a decoy out, I may have been able to get the buck to come in. Even though I came away with no shot, it's experiences like that that keep me coming back.

I have shot 7 bucks if I am remembering right, I would have to say at least 10 does if I had to guess. Not a ton but steady year to year. Of the bucks I have shot, I have only mounted one of them. He was 139 7/8" gross. Not huge, just nice. Shot him during shotgun season here a couple years back just as the snow quit falling during a storm. After that, I quit gun hunting because I want my kills to be with bow. Funny thing was, my best buck I had never seen before but found out a guy I know hunting a neighbors land passed him twice because he didn't think the land owner would approve that this buck was big enough. Lucky me, come to find the landowner told the guy he was crazy and that the deer was more than big enough!!!

My most memorable would have to be last year when my 16 year old son killed his first deer with a bow. I could see the deer from my stand and not knowing he could still get a shot I was trying to get it to turn my way with a grunt call . About that time I heard his arrow hit and the buck took off and went 20 yards and piled up. He had killed a nice 12 point for his first deer with a bow and I got to see it all. I found out later that he had missed low on his first shot. Hunting out of the same stand he had killed his first deer at age 9 and my brother had killed his first deer out of over 30 years ago. Guess a good spot is a good spot.

I'm good with Soccerdan90 taking the reigns. All in favor say AYE. I also vote for Outdooraddict's artwork as team logo. All in favor say AYE.
