Hey guys, brother just called and said I hadn't checked in yet! Been busy trying to find a new job and get a place back home. This will be my third or fourth contest, can't really remember. Would love to win it this year!

From central Oklahoma and hunt there and western Oklahoma. If you ever watch major league bowhunter I hunt some land not very from those guys and have some great land up there. I am very fortunate for that. Haven't had much on camera this year as far as velvet deer go, but here are a couple that survived from last year. Also got a lease this year that has some Mule deer on it here in Oklahoma so maybe I can get a big mulie stuck. Here are a few survivors I hope show up this year.

These are regulars that if I can get moved back home I will be able to hunt more this year. Lets just win this thing this year!!!

Anyone have strong feelings about brands of trail cams? I bought a cuddieback last week I found on sale. Haven't had a chance to put it in the woods just yet but from some tests I ran I'm not blown away with its performance. My Moultrie cam seems more sturdy overall.

Thwack, I run cuddies an moultrie as well. I love the size an how easy it is to set up the moultries. Both brands takes good pics though.

Thanks for the good wishes. All I can say about the avatar is if you get the chance to run hogs with dogs, you need to go. Quite entertaining watching a grown man take down a full grown hog with the help of some dogs.

As far as cameras go i have a bunch of moultries and a couple cuddebacks,I just put out a new wildgame razor today we will see how it goes, it was nice to set up, but I have always been skeptical of wildgame quality. At this point I much prefer the moultries

Generally speaking, most trail cameras now are pretty good. When they are bad, it usually has to do with the person who set up the camera. Too far from trails, camera on strictly a passage area where deer is moving quick to pass through an area, etc. As per my pics earlier, I use Wildgame. Good pic quality and they don't break my bank accounts.

Is anyone else hunting turkey this Fall? I got my stamp last night (I never get my zone until this year) when I got home from work and the Fall turkey season runs the same time as archery season here. I'm glad they run parallel since I can technically hunt both at the same time. Anyone thwacked a turkey before? How about the most memorable hunting (bow or not) story for you as a way to get to know each other a bit better?

Our seasons run the same as well. I always get a turkey tag just in case, never have had one in range in the fall. Killed plenty in the spring time though:tu:

Fall turkey runs during deer here as well. Have never tried for one but if one were to offer the opportunity on my parents place I could use a landowner tag so I might give it a try.

Here in Ohio, Turkey runs from mid October to mid November or so. I only seem to see them right before the season starts, never actually in season. Go figure...

I have shot 3 turkeys in the fall, my first one I used a grim reaper broadhead. i shot and I thought I just drilled it, but it took off flying like nothing happend, it got up to the top of the nearby oak tree and looked like it was landing to roost, and just as I was thinking what the heck I must have missed, I could see the 2 foot spurts of blood pumping out, just before he was going to land he folded up and fell about 40 feet to the ground. It was probly my neatest turkey experience.
