It turned out to be a long day. After taking care of our deer we did some scouting and it payed off. Found what looks like a prime area. I just have to figure out how to get in there undetected. I’ll get that doe posted to the scorecard pronto.
Went this evening with the boy. Seen some turkey and bumped a deer going in. About sunset we had a doe come behind us with no shot. Then bumped some coming out. Not to bad for the first sit of the year Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I went out on my first hunts of the year this weekend in Northern Michigan. We sat on our 30 acre alfalfa food plot Friday night. We saw over 30 deer. Several were little bucks. We saw one nice 8-9 point, but he stayed 100+ yards away. I tried grunting and using the tree thrasher. Neither worked. On Saturday morning, we sat in the timber near a big creek. We saw 6 does and fawns and one small 1.5 yr old buck. My 11 year old daughter went with me. It was a fun hunting trip. There were no clouds on Friday night and you could see a million stars while listening to the coyotes howl. We don't see near as many stars in the city. That's for sure!
Back home we have had deer in our oats food plot every day. We have one small 8 pt that my daughter wants a crack at. He has started to show up on camera a bit more regularly. Hoping to get out after work on Wednesday this week.
I also had a Browning Strike Force camera die on me. It took great pictures and then suddenly quit a few days ago. The batteries are still good. I even tried putting brand new batteries in, but no luck. I tried leaving the camera on for a few hours in my house to see if it would start working, but nothing. It does drain the batteries while it is on. Can't figure it out. Anyone know what to do?
Try contacting bushnell they might be able to help ya out. They have great customer service from all I have heard.
Yeah I had the same issue they sent me a different camera Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well had a good sit yesterday. Shot a big doe and then a smaller doe came out and shot her also. Recovered one and the other lost blood and it was a liver hit and jumped her out of her bed. No blood in bed. But here is the one I did recover. She is small but going to be good eatin! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Thanks! Wish I could have found the other one, she was big but sometimes thats how it goes. Makes me sick tho. I'll be back after it in a couple days. Hopefully one of the shooters I have on camera steps out. Probably try to take out 2 or 3 more does too.
We have 2 bonus antlerless tags. The first two does you get with a bow doesn't count towards that 2 doe quota. So 4 does and 1 buck.
I had no luck my last sit. Camera without any deer again so we moved our setups to a field edge. At very least should see them coming in and out of corn field on the next property over and make our move from there Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
Hey Guys, Sorry I've been absent. I was in Michigan this past week with The Hunting Public and The Hunting Beast helping out with a few things. Congrats on the Does gentlemen! This weekend I'll be back in the tree! Temps will be in the high 30s!
Awesome! I've been following the THP deer tour! Did you make it into any of the footage? Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
