Hoyt in the name sorry guys, My bowtech would throw up! JK JK guys I do not mean any disrespect about your bows either, I am sure they are great bows! but I just don't think I want to go all season being called team hoyt! Sorry.. Ferg sounds like you want to take on the captain role, you have my vote. Now on a cool note, spent yesterday in E. Wash and met three really cool land owners and picked up roughly 3-4 K acres of mountain/farm country to hunt! SCORE! I am gonna hunt there Sunday and then back in Idaho Monday
Thats some sweet news shed. i wish it was that easy in this part of the country. Hope you kill a monster out there. Oh BTW i shoot Hoyt also lol.
Geesh, I am out numbered by all you Hoyt guys! As far as that land goes, I would have never gotten permission without the help of a former school teacher of mine that hunts all these properties and he is well respected by all of these guys. Ya see it pays off to be good to your school teachers!
Troy and I have decided that we should call ourselves "team bowtech". LOL. In all seriousness I kinda like team MAHAT
Well it is pretty awesome that we are loaded with HOYT guys! Sure we will dominate because of that reason alone! But I won't hold it against all the rest of you that are shooting less superior bows! LOL
Got a chance to drive down near where I do most of my hunting this afternoon. Didn't get a chance to go check it out but I did notice that some of the farmers in the area were already starting to cut the corn!!! That is great news since last year they didn't cut it till extremely late in the year! I am planning on going back down on Monday night and spending the night so I can check out some of the land on Monday morning early for a few hours!
With this long weekend I hope to make it out to (whats going to have to be) my main hunting spot this year. There is a chance I wont be able to hunt my favorite property this year due to the land owner family issues. But the piece I can hunt for sure is a 500 acre piece and a better part of it is corn right now. We have seen some great bucks there and many nice bucks have been taken off of there. My biggest problem there is the other people who hunt it. The weather tonight really cooled off and it felt like a perfect night to be sitting in a tree stand. I have the itch.
It has been really hot here in Chicagoland for awhile now but I awoke this morning to 61 degrees and it felt awesome! Can't wait for the first of March now!
Crap just found out that my favorite public spot is now antlerless only for October. Might have to look for another spot to start the season off at!
I know of another good spot just haven't hunted it before but have a buddy that knows that land like the back of his hand. He even found a few world class sheds on that land this year. I know he will help me out!
Now thats more like it! I started playing with avatars a little bit and have one made up for MAHAT. Maybe I'll see what I can make for some of the other names in the next day or so.
Any of you IL guys are more than welcome to head down here and hunt with me if you would like. I'm sitting on 200 acres of land thats adjacent to pike county. It's prime ground and I get tired of hunting it alone. Even if it's just for a weekend you're more than welcome. Let me know maybe we can get sumin' worked out.
OHBowhunter- Like the avatar. Maybe you can make the names bigger though and make the arrows standout a bit more. They are hidden a bit! But it looks awesome! goherd1111- I am totally up for that! I am pretty much unemployed right now so I can definetly come down! Maybe I will take my doe early season on the public that I like hunting then come down a bit later in the season closer to the rut! Let's definetly get this planned! Would be cool to schedule it around the time that JZ, Duke and Raceway are down in Brown Co.
herd- I would definitely be interested in trying to set something like that up! I move to Northern Illinois this coming Thursday to begin work at the BH.C office this fall, and I'm not really sure if I'll get to come back to Virginia much to hunt or if I'll have an opportunity to hunt in Northern Illinois or not, so if there's a weekend I'm free this fall I would definitely like to come down for a hunt!
Cody where are you going to be moving to? I am sure that you won't have any problems finding places to hunt with Todd and JZ around. Sure that they will set you up. If they don't I hunt a bunch of public not far from the bh.com offices. I only live about 40 minutes from the office so I stop over all the time!
I'm actually not sure the name of the locale I'll be moving too, but I'm moving in with Kyle Olesen (i'm sure you know him). But Kyle said we'll be about 15 minutes from the office, not sure in which direction though. Thing is, at the end of this month, the lease at Kyle's current place so we'll be moving again. Distance isn't much of an issue for me when it comes to hunting though, Lol! But if there is an opportunity to hunt up there with you this fall I'd love to take you up on it!
