Hey guys, hunting every evening. Nothing but does last night. The good news is while at a Church dinner with mom I got to talk to a good friend of mine whom owns the property I was hunting that huge typical on. He told me the "Big Boy" was down by his house a couple days ago, I was so tickled to hear this. Hes still walking and with only bow hunting season open now I believe he will make it! I am gonna hunt his area this week and hope for the best. He's running a big area, probably over 1000 acres or more and I can only hunt about 320 of it..

thats cool to hear troy, I hope the good lord brings that deer bye you, you deserve him! I'll most likely be out this saturday hunting a spot with a good friend of mine. I think it would be cool to to add another trophy from the late season to go alomg with my pig I shot on the illinois opener. I hope a doe comes by more than anything! good luck everyone...

I haven't been out in a few weeks due to some family issues but I will be back at it for the next 5 days in a row! Been looking forward to this stretch of hunting all season. I am getting to hunt near my house in an area that I know has some nice deer! I will keep everyone posted!

I've only been out a couple times the last few weeks. I froze for 2 hours on stand last night. I did see 3 does though. Gonna hunt tomorrow morning and evening and then probably not again until January. I've got enough deer for my sausage, so not real motivated. I did kill my 161 incher on Dec 19th last year so I guess I shouldn't give up on a booner yet.

Well guys, I think I am finished. Season in the zones around my home are done. I doubt with what I have going on with my mother that I will travel out of state. I went right down to the wire last night with a great buck just out of range. I was glad to see he made the gun season. Never did see the big typical again, but happy to hear from the land owner that he saw him about 1 week ago. I hope to find his sheds. Shot a doe at last light. :)

    Congrats on the doe, Troy!

I think I am done hunting here in Illinois for the year. I'll be going hom for Christmas tomorrow after work and will hunt back home for a week. Probably do a little bow and a little muzzleloader. I'd like to take a doe off our property back home.

This season went by way too fast! Good luck to everyone still out there!

No deer this weekend, but I did shoot my first coyote with a bow. Do we get any points for that? We should, they're crafty buggers.

It sounds like everything came to a big stand still. Everyone has sheds on their brain now.

Well guys, it's over! I must this of the three contests I have involved in, I enjoyed this the most. It was a blast keeping up with everyone's season and genuinely wishing everyone a succesful hunt.

We had the lead there for about a week, but just ran out of steam! Well done team!

    Till next year!
