Guys, just wanted to throw a quick reminder out to everyone. When you are getting ready for your hunt I know that we all go through our checklist of stuff we need. Please remember to make sure a camera is on that list. And make sure that the camera has batteries or is charged. We have a few teams that are going to miss out on points because they failed to be prepaired and could not produce 2 pictures as the rules clearly state! This means that you need to figure out how to take your pictures before you need to. If you need to rest your camera on your bag, take a tripod or make sure someone else takes it for you just do what you have to! Now let's kick some deer butt!
Anyone getting out this weekend to hunt? I'm going out tonight for the first time in a week so hopefully i can get a few more points for us if all goes well.
good luck drew, i'm on call for work starting today till next thursday. Things should be looking really good by the end of next week, full moon on the 23rd, crops about all down and temps in the 50's for high's! There will be some studs harvested around then.
I won't be able to get out till next weekend. I am busy with my daughters and nephew this weekend and waterfowl season opens tomorrow so I am gonna get out and blast some ducks early part of next week! Good luck to all of you that will be getting out! Hope to get some of those awesome text messages from you guys!
Hey teammates... I was out yesterday and did not see a thing due to 30 mph hour winds. The land Im hunting gets a lot of pressure so I probably wont see anything until the rut, but ill be out there. Hope we could pull this win off.
Well gents, both last night and this morning were a bust for me. I didn't see anything. I will be back at it tomorrow afternoon.
Can't wait to hear the story justhunt! Congrats again! It doesn't look like I will be back out again till Friday but will be out for a few days in a row!
I haven't seen a single deer in my last three sits! It's got to get better because it couldn't be any worse. I'm thinking another week and things should be getting under way. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
Thanks everyone. I was hunting an old property that has always produced, but usually evening sits. Nothing much to the hunt really. I had 2 adult does and a yearling working there way to me. I noticed one of the does dragging one leg. I figured someone shot her recently. She was bunched with the other 2 for a while, but she finally cleared them. I shot her at 35 yards. Double lung with a G5 Striker. She made it 50 yards. Turned out she had an old injury to her leg. Her hoof actually curled back and healed in a 90 degree turn. It was actually a nice handle to drag her out. Justing waiting for the rut now to put my buck down. Jeff
Guys it's starting to look up here in central IL. I was out this morning and hunted a stand that I haven't sit in yet. I saw 10 deer total, including 4 bucks. One of the bucks was a decent 120" 8 point. He came in to about 15 yards. I tried to get a picture pic of him but couldn't get my camera up in time. I have 10 days in a row of vacation coming up the first week of Nov. I can't wait! It should really start heating up here shortly. Justhunt, Congrats again on your doe. That is a great story and a great job on your part. Always great to hear of hunters that do the right thing. Taking that specific doe was awesome! Way to represent the team!
Well the deer last night for me were a no show again. It just seems like someone shut the switch off in my woods. Oh well, i think im going to hit up the public land by me this weekend and give the farm a little rest.
Drew, my plan as of right now is to be down in LaSalle Co again this weekend. Probably head down early friday afternoon and stay till monday morning. Let me know if you put one down, i'll come over and help out and get some photo's for you!
Only got out once this weekend, filmed two other times. Saw some good bucks on Saturday and a borderline shooter Sunday morning. Lot of doe action too.
