Hey guys just checking in. Been hunting hard for the past couple of weeks, but cant seem to get on the bucks. Ive been hunting food sources primarily, but will be focusing on pinch points and funnels now. How is everyone else doing?

I was just able to get back out today for the first time since the 3rd and it was a very uneventful day. Lots of squirrels and 1 raccoon was all that I got to see. Hopefully the cooler weather and rain tomorrow will make it a better day!

Hey guys, checking in, been hunting hard, and running scrapes. Got bucks starting to hit the dirt now, not just the licking branch, set up in a great spot tonight and had 15 cow and calf elk walk right by me.. didnt do much to help my buck hunt but it was a good night! I let em all walk, no cow season right now, and no big bulls showed up.

You guys will be impressed with BF and how well it works. Nice work Ryan, couldnt call you today, just running from work to hunting.. daylight till dark! Its a matter of time before a big one makes a mistake. :) talk to you guys soon. Good luck everyone!

You have definetly been seeing way more then I have. I would be happy to see anything right now that wasn't a squirrel!

As for the Buck Fever I am really looking forward to trying it out. I already have a spot picked out for it. It is on public land but I have really been watching and it doesn't appear that anyone else ever goes to this area so I think I will be ok using it in this location!

Troy and Ryan- I've had TREMENDOUS success using Code Blue scents (Buck Urine, Tarsal Gland) in constructing my mock scrapes back home in VA as they get quickly taken and worked over by bucks of all age classes, mostly mature bucks though.

Sell me on how BF is different/better than what I currently use now.

Another question for Troy and Ryan. Are you guys using scent drippers on your buckfever scrapes? If so what kind? Or are you simply spraying it on when you're in the area?

Buck fever products says it in the name synthetic. These products are better than any frozen, refridgerator products on the market by far! The problem with real bottled deer urine is that although yes fresh, but overtime will start to spoil or rot, just like human urine will. It will still put out scent for curiosity and yes deer are killed by using these products every year, but they don't have the life that BF products do. BF has ne hidden chemicals or agents that could sppok deer. These products attract all species of wildgame. You can keep them on the shelf and they will never rott or spoil as stated before. The coolest thing, is you can use this stuff year round and it will literally train the deer in your area to hit the scrapes you made or scrapes made by the animal. Furthermore this stuff is proven to draw the big boys in, not just once but time after time. Troy has been having the same shooter bucks hitting his scrapes from the spring! I shot my 164 over a mock scrape that I used BF on. Now i'm getting other shooters on trailcam. I have used code blue, tinks, hunters specialties, you name it. And nothing compares to BF period, nothing... Troy has been using BF for 13 years or better now and has made him a killin machine! We are both huge believers in this stuff. I'm waiting for Mr. T to pay a visit on one of my scrapes. This stuff is easy to use, pre/post rut or full rut blend; make mock scrape under licking branch and place quite a few drops on scrape. forehead tarsal spray, you simply spray on overhead licking branch and even on the trail leading from scrape to scrape you can spray this stuff on the vegeation, trees. It's awesome stuff!

Sounds great Ryan. My BIL is coming out the first full week of November for a week long rut hunt. I'm hoping to get my hands on some BF by then. Thanks for taking the time to do this brother, it is appreciated!

Hey guys, to add to what Ryan said about the buck fever synthetics. First of all, any urine can work in a scrape. Will all urines work all of the time, no. Will all protein based real urines begin to break down immediately. Yes. Will synthetics breakdown over time take on a rotten unatural smell. Never. What I like most about BF forehead gland for the licking branch and urine for the scrape, is that if you apply it correctly ( keep direct human scent out, ie using rubber boots/latex gloves) in a good area, deer will always check it and most often take over the area. I have never witnessed in person or on trail cam a negative reaction to this stuff. 13 years of using it on a herd of deer out here in these mountains that do not tolerate much. They get pressured by wolves, lions, bears, yotes and a two month long gun season. They know how to survive. The only thing that messes up my scrapes are other hunters in my public lands tromping through my bedding areas and or scraping areas. I have never had a scrape go bad other than that. If you have private land that you can keep people out, you wont have that problem. I have a couple friends using it in Iowa and Kansas right now that are gettin amazing results.

I use drippers, wildlife research drippers, That way I dont have to frequent the scrape except to hunt it. I run scrapes from June till Dec. They get hit all of those months. At least the licking branches do. The ground from OCt till Dec. mostly. When you hunt your mock scrapes or if you simply overmark and existing communtiy scrape you have to still play the wind and get in and out undetected as best you can. Just like any other whitetail hunt.

Finally the BF urine scent stays in the soil for several weeks even months. Deer start overmarking it and simply take the scrape over. You and your BF become a "new" deer to the area that they smell but never do see. This often triggers a curiosity in bucks that are very dominate and territorial. Some bucks are much more than others.

Nice work again Ryan, good luck to all.

On a personal note I am currently dealing with a total jackass that found my scrapes, tree stands and decided it would be a good idea to trounce around in the near by bedding area and oh yeah put a bear bait in about 100 yards from one of my best big buck travel routes...oh the joy of getting to deal with guys on public lands or private lands that everyone can hunt.

Totally feel your pain in regards to hunting public land. I finally ran into Karl last night when checking out. He is the guy that I posted about opening day that came in 40 yards from me and started smoking and yapping on his damn cell phone at 5:45 in the evening. Informed him of what happened and he could of really cared less. It was everything I could do not to punch him lastnight.

I know how you guys feel, even on my father in laws private land, we get idiots tinkering around across the river, other hunters who aren't quiet, duck hunters, you name it. It pisses you off royally, the one thing I learned is that I don't hunt out their anymore close to the weekend, I prefer to take time off work and hunt the middle of the week when no one is down there messing everything up, the deer are calmed back down. But even now I spend 90% of my time hunting my farm out in northwestern illinois, bigger deer herd and of course there are some stud bucks out there. I'm trying to get my nephew his first buck out at my father in laws, which he will get action fairly quick when I start putting buck fever in his area!

If you have that many studs out in NWIL and want to share some of that wealth with your teammates just let me know I would be happy to make the trip out west! LOL

    Troy-Ryan-

How does BF perform when bucks stop hitting scrapes, in other words early November? My Code Blue mock scrapes back home are taken over so I won't be using any in Virginia as I won't be hunting out there until Thanksgiving. But I've got a couple spots up here that I want to try out, but it probably won't be until late October until I could make them. What kind of results can I expect then?

Yeah there is a brief period when I see less attention to scrapes, that is usually when the bucks are really locking down does, but even during that week or two time period I still get bucks checking the scrapes. If a buck doesnt have a doe locked down hes gonna be scent checking and scrapes are a big part of that equation.

exactly, there will always be one lonely sailer looking for attention, so if you have this stuff laid out, "watch out"!
