Well My opener was slow to start but about an hour before dark i had two does come out into the bean field (the farmer just finished harvesting it when i got out to the stand) about 140yds out. The tow milled around for 20 min and started to work my way. The lead one did get to within 40 yds but then she made a sharp right turn and headed away from me. ended up seeing 12 does and 1 buck who :busted: me on the walk out. I did make it out this morning and managed to give a nanny a shave job at 20yds at about 6:45. Shot just over the top of her and took off a little hair.:violin::cry: Perfect shot quartering away and i blow it. Oh well
BTW did you guys get the pic of Ryan's buck yet? I just got it via text msg and its a BRUTE!!!!!! Way to go RYNO!

I'm headed in for the Mornin. Saw a few does and a six point. No shot opportunities on the does. Good luck out there!

Drew, where were you hunting at? I have been at lot 4 both yesterday and today. Had a nice doe bust me this morning and run off with two more following. Then just minutes later had 2 small bucks come right under my stand. Was so cold that I finally had to get down. I plan to get back out this afternoon. Not sure if I will go back to 4 or make my way over to a different one. If you have any suggestions please let me know!

I also got Ryan's picture and what a buck! Congrats again to him! I was texting him lastnight and it sounds like Graf didn't make it over so he was dragging it out. Sure that it was a long/late night for him.

Ferg, Ive been hunting out on the farm that i have permission to hunt. I'm going back out there again today and if i don't kill this time i'm gonna head out to Starved Rock tomorrow so i can give the farm a rest. If your seeing deer i would move just yet. Who knows who has been hunting the other spots and what they have been up too out there. There are a lot of guys out there like the one you had the run in with yesterday. They just don't get it.

I was thinking that I would head back to the same spot. Good luck at the farm.

13 pointer, gross 162 7/8 inches, i'll try and have more info and pics shortly. it's been along night and day, no sleep, caping and skinning the deer out, scoring him, among other things. He is a stud for sure, I can't wait to get some good pics up for you guys. good luck to everyone!

Congrats Ryan! Can't wait to see some pics.:tu: I was out this evening, but only saw a spike and a yearling doe. Two more weeks and things should be happening, big time.

    Congrats again Ryan, great buck!

I've been skunked on my first two Illinois bow hunts; deerless! Oh well, it's been a blast so far. I'll be back at it tomorrow!

I didn't make it out this morning. Totally run down from the last few days and didn't really pack anything warm enough for the cold weather we got this morning. Going to stick around for the afternoon hunt then head back up north afterwards! Good luck to everyone out hunting today!
