lol i got a little practice following a blood trail when i got home and had to clean up the nice path that i left going into the bathroom. looked like i took a rage to the cage.
No deer from the stand but I did see 2 while exiting the woods about 100 yards out in the middle of a field. It sure felt nice finally sitting in a tree though.
The boys from Illinois will be laying the smack down in just a few more short days! I am almost all packed up for the weekend! Took the day off friday so I can head down to stay at my ex-wifes house in Ottawa for the weekend which is only about 15 minutes from where I will be hunting! Much better drive then 2 hours from my house!

Hey guys, sorry I havent been around much, too much going on here, Ryan and I hunted elk hard, passed up some gimmies on cows trying to kill the big bulls. No kills, Dangit. I did whitetail hunt a couple times, very very slow except for one morning when the weather was a little more decent. I saw a hawg at about 70 yards on and off all morning milling around above me, bedding, getting back up etc.. Didnt try calling him, just kept thinking he would make his way towards me but eventually he moved away at about 10:30 am.. Back on that stand tonight. Hope something shows before dark.
Since Starved Rock where I will be this weekend is anterless only if I manage to take one quickly I am up for hanging out with some of you others that are in the relative area! Wouldn't mind getting out and doing some filming for you if you want. Let me know!
Or if you guys want to get together for a few beers or something one of those nights I am always up for that too!
I think i will be out at Starved Rock for a hunt on Sunday. i went out an did a little scouting mission on a few of the spots out there on Saturday.
Which areas were you scouting? I like hunting the lots around 14 & 15 but I have hunted several others. I was thinking that I would start at those since I know that area better then the others but if they don't pan out I will definetly be moving.
Its looking like I'm off to KY this weekend. Also the there is reports of a droptine on one of the places I hunt here in OH. The guy who lives there called me tonight and said he saw him 2 nights now in his driveway. Hopefully I can get to it before his brother or one of the other hunters get to him.
Ferg i have the best luck on lots 1,4,5,&10. I have hunted 14 & 15 and have never seen much but then again i never made it that far back into them. I want to try to hunt lots 9 & 11 this year if i can. There is a ton of land out there. I did take a walk around that new spot that they opened up outside of LaSalle and its all cliffs and steep bluffs. Its almost too thick to hunt.
Our points will soon be rolling in, I can feel it; pretty soon we will all be in the stand racking up some major points; lets do it fellas! There is suppose to be a cold front moving in this weekend for illinois, that should be exciting!
Well I am planning on hitting 15 Friday morning then deciding on a game plan for the rest of the weekend. I don't know those other lots that well except for 4 but if friday doesn't go that well maybe we can get together friday night and look at some arials and figure something else out. I will be heading down on Thursday morning and will be free all day too.
Lot 1 is by the golf course club house and that is the one i was planning to hit up on sunday if i dont kill at the farm. There are a few oak flats above the river that are just off of the bean field across the road from lot 14. i will be working Thursday until 4ish and i was thinking about taking a ride out the range by lot 1 to shoot a little since it is a big no no to shoot in town here.
